Re: Overcoming fears: Tamest and most thrilling seat for each coaster

My tip is to overwhelm yourself with excitement, get yourself worked up in the queue line and avoid any negative thoughts as much as possible until you are locked into the restraints. Then remember to relax do not tense yourself in any circumstances as you will only injure yourself. Then all you hav...

Re: Galactica - General Discussion

I really feel sorry for the person who had to painstakingly remove the VR from the map for such a small detail few people will notice.

Re: Alton Towers Stargazing Pods - Opening April 12th 2019

I reckon the prices are so high this season is because of the whole supply/demand thing that comes with new accommodation, I’d imagine the prices will be lower in the long term, I believe EV and CBeebies land hotel had price drops in the second season.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Food and Beverage

Can anyone explain to me why Katanga Canyon has a Greek themed restaurant and X-Sector has a 50’s themed restaurant it’s looks really out of place.

I get they wanted to rebrand and all that but why did they change the themes of the restaurants? Don’t they own these brands anyway?

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

What do you mean “Thorpe have had 3 off years”? This is the first “off” season Thorpe have had in a long while, and the argument “Thorpe needs a new coaster” is awful. Thorpe has had a number of issues in the past years which has led them to get virtually completely different management this season ...

This source is some random guy on twitter who has been wrong about information multiple times in the past, I wouldn't give him any credibility.

Re: Merlin General Discussion

I hope this is the start of something positive to come for Merlin. They could really do with the increase of guests and revenue about now, maybe even see the start in bigger budgets for some of the parks. Apart from the fact they announced RTP Capex would be reduced to fund Midway and Legoland deve...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

Here’s the tip that worked for me, get yourself excited enough before hand and in the queue think positive thoughts on how excited you are to ride and it’ll drown any anxiety until it’s too late, as you make you way up the lift/ wait for the launch just relax and do not tense yourself.

Re: Project 2020

They literally said there are no plans for anything major in the next couple of years yesterday.

Why on earth are people thinking about “teasers” for a 2020 coaster?

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

Recently Merlin have distanced themselves from any Thorpe Park branding, as Swarm Chris says, there is no branding for Thorpe in the MAP advert this would be a deliberate decision as in the past they have continued to advertise rides that already opened, so they could have just advertised TWD:TR on ...

Re: Galactica - General Discussion

Well, there were rumblings of the VR being removed this season, I wonder if this is true and if any changes will be made to the ride. (For example I can’t see them playing the preshow if the VR is gone)

Re: Forbidden Valley Future

It’s good to see they are spending money on maintaining such an old ride instead of removing it. (Blade and Gallopers are last two rides which were at the parks opening if I’m correct?) Also, I wonder why they haven’t said anything on Towers TLC about this or Air’s jetwash, they haven’t said anythin...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019

I’m pretty sure that Blackpool and Warwick Dungeons have no more than 20 in a group. Because the sets usually aren’t very big to give a slight claustrophobic feel and it feels more personal with the guests and the actor.

Having 40 or even 80 people in a group would cause utter chaos.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Also, if they are trying to sell to investors why do it through Alton Towers social media and not at a sort of Merlin trading update where most investors will see it.

It just seems weird to me. “We’re expecting to make more money this year” is a very stupid way to market yourself to the public.

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019

One concern I have with The Dungeons is general park goers may confuse it with Hex. I can just imagine a family walking past the Hex entrance and little Timmy wanting to go on it only for his parents to say “Oh Timmy, we can’t go on that, you have to pay for that ride”. And same goes for people who ...
