Re: Alton Towers Resort Merchandise

I’d agree with that. I much prefer distinctive badges of the ride logos than some of the stuff they’ve been making. The hologram pins, for example, I’m definitely not a fan of. They’re not recognisable enough.

I’ve got to agree with you there. I’m not a massive fan of this year’s selection

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

Really depends on the day. Weekdays maybe half an hour? Weekends and school holidays are closer to an hour or two. Smiler currently has Single Rider though so I’d recommend that over buying fasttrack for it. But at this point any advice is pretty much useless as we don’t know what the park will look...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Looks like everything has sold now. Shame as I liked the look of the ties. I read somewhere that they plan to release more stuff each week so hopefully there’ll be more on soon.

Re: SW9

At this point any kind of 'pattern' or cycle has gone completely out of the window. SW8 was late because of the Smiler incident and this pandemic will have an even bigger impact on their finances. Its completely dependent on how long parks must stay closed and whether the public has any interest in ...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Taking a look at 2020's Accessibility Guide  shows some interesting stuff including this table: https://i.ibb.co/Rg04KQB/Capture.png It shows the 3 new or renamed rides in The World of David Walliams and also confirms that Cuckoo Cars will be officially a part of the Towers area. It also shows the n...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

The website (which is using the same new branding as the twitter post) confirms that unlimited fast track is still only for an hour https://www.thorpebreaks.co.uk/offers/early-booking-offer.html?adcode=TB-S-S-THORPE&agent=TPC01&utm_content=tpb-30_off-2020-wk06-wide-ebo_3&gclid=EAIaIQobCh...

Both Speed and Megafobia at Oakwood should probably be included

But I'm sure Merlin wouldn't do that again!

Personally, I think the wall just looks Alton Towers themed rather than an IP. It looks like their family style and brand.

Re: Worst thing you've ever accidently done at a park.

Again, not a park but when my grandad picked me up from nursery many years ago he set off the fire alarm, causing the entire primary school to have to evacuate.

Re: What do you think should replace CCL?

I still think it would be great if Aardman and Merlin teamed up and created a whole new world of characters I don't think that's going to happen, honestly. After BPB put in Thrill-O-Matic, I think the GP would presume Towers is copying BPB. It's a better idea than the 7th bloody Thomas Town/Land. Y...

Re: Alton Towers Resort Future - General Discussion

I’ve come up with a sort of development plan for Alton Towers. It is mainly based on my wishes and hopes but I have tried to think about profitability and commercial viability. I’ll start with my year-by-year plans then move on to general improvements to be carried out at any stage. 2020 – The theme...

With the free tickets from The Sun, can they be upgraded to a season pass or can that only be done with a purchased ticket? Also can premium season passes be bought on the day?

As you pay £0 for the free ticket, you would have to pay the full price for the season pass to upgrade to it.

Re: Merlin General Discussion - New Owners agreed in £4.8bn deal

I thought people were quite excited before I read this thread. Firstly, Lego haven't bought merlin. Lego's parent company (which exists almost solely to serve Lego) have bought some more of Merlin. That's it. I am confident in the future of the company. Lego have a great company ethos, which is cert...

Re: Project 2020

Now, I want to bring more attention to Thorpe's running actors. We've had 4 different types of actors running around park since Opening Saturday.  1: Jungle Crew (not australian) 2: Film Crew  3: Jungle Crew (Australian, Jungle Escape) 4:Old Town Crew. This just could be thorpe trying to incorporat...

Re: Nemesis - General Discussion

Just got back from AT for the first time in afew years.  Nemesis as good as ever.  Does anyone else have the theme tune stuck in their head when they get home?   Impressed with the 15 minute waiting time for a bank holiday Monday. Sorry to be off topic but what is it that makes a coaster rough with...

We think we are probably the world leader in themed accommodation

Nick Varney said that. Has he heard of Disney?

Re: Merlin General Discussion

I think to brand it as a midway attraction it has to be replicable? Warwick castle certainly can't be built in any city Merlin fancies! I did enjoy great Yarmouth. Even just looking at joyland and pleasure beach was plenty interesting. One of the highlights was finding a small window in the building...
