Re: Phantasialand

Yep, I think the last piece was actually installed on 25th April. By far the best place to find regular(ish) English language updates, photos and videos, etc., is the F.L.Y. / Rookburgh topic on Coasterforce.

Re: Cloud Cuckoo Land Replacement

I could be underestimating it’s popularity, but I don’t think a  Doctor Who themed area would be a very wise investment.

Re: Scarefest - General Discussion

I don’t think it should be set in Sharkbait Reef to be honest. Alton Towers should be aware that replacing an attraction from their regular lineup with an experience that incurs an additional entry cost is not a very good idea, from both a guest experience and a business point of view. A lot of peop...

Re: Cloud Cuckoo Land Replacement

I wouldn't call it low budget. Having done a lot of Dungeons attractions, it is comparable to a lot of them. London obviously has a lot more, but that is the signature attraction. I mean more in terms of the construction / set up of the attraction. I can’t really compare the Alton Towers Dungeon to...

Re: Cloud Cuckoo Land Replacement

There are a lot of people speculating that it may just be a placeholder attraction because of its temporary / low budget nature (the way the attraction has been created, not necessarily reflective of the experience it offers). That would make some sense in that it would allow Alton Towers and MMM so...

Re: Cloud Cuckoo Land Replacement

I’d like to think The Alton Towers Dungeon won't last beyond 2020 – as in, that will hopefully be it’s last season at the park. If they do go for a retheme of Cloud Cuckoo Land, I can see the possibility of a two phase project. A new themed area for 2020 taking up the current area of CCL (could also...

Re: Scarefest - General Discussion

The maze lineup looks strong. I was a little surprised to hear that House of Monsters isn’t returning, but Darkest Depths seems like a interesting replacement, so I don’t really see any issues there. Alton Towers seem to know how to execute pirate themes well, so I have a lot of confidence in this n...

I’m not sure anybody knows... I can’t see it on TowersTimes, TowersStreet, RCDB, Wikipedia or Alton Towers’ website :-k

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Food and Beverage

So, I saw an awful picture posted online today of some of the most disgusting food I’ve seen served at Alton Towers. They look to have hit a new low in terms of food quality this year. Open the spoiler if you dare... https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/447075537861476359/586211939286515713/29E031...

Re: Flamingo Land

After my last visit I thought Mingo really lacked a stand out coaster. Velocity and Kumali are both pretty average, nothing special. Although I didn’t get to ride Mumbo Jumbo... or Hero for that matter, but I hear that’s stand out for all the wrong reasons....... This might actually just tempt me to...

Re: Pop Concert - July 1969

If I recall correctly, before concerts were moved to the lawns inside the theme park, they used to be held in the car park, or at least the area that is now the car park. But I can’t say that as fact, I just remember reading something along those lines somewhere. Sorry, I’m not completely sure :-k

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

The idea of the regular gaming consoles was very silly, it’s like what people said right at the beginning when GameFX was announced; people just don’t go to theme parks, only to spend time doing something they could do at home instead. But I’m glad that the VR area is seemingly more popular. I imagi...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

As a bouncy castle, that looks like a whole lot of fun. But as an attraction in a theme park..? Given that there isn’t any extra charge , I certainly hope it will be popular. But then again, most of GameFX (everything except the VR?) is free to use, and that looks as if it’s been a bit of a flop... ...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019

It is surprising how something so small and so simple as that can take so long to install, to the point where they actually have to use CGI to feature them in the advert. That is very bizarre.

Re: Towers Loving Care

They can’t really afford to lose another ride, they already have a *very* long list of removed rides that they still haven’t opened replacements for. They certainly aren’t making it easy for themselves. But Enterprise should be back open sometime in June, apparently they are awaiting on a part from ...

It’s a bit embarrassing that they can’t get even one fairly well known name to headline this.

Re: Alton Towers 40th Anniversary in 2020

The merch for Thorpe Parks’s 40th looks very good. And it’s undoubtedly been very popular by the looks of it, so it would be great if Alton Towers have a similar range of retro stuff for their 40th next year.  Late night openings in the summer would be fantastic. They could maybe pair that up with a...
