Re: Thorpe Park Resort - Quick Questions

Are there staggered openings at Thorpe these days? I know DBGT opens at 12:00 (supposedly :lol) but are there any others? Presumably Rapids open a bit later. Nope, with exception of Ghost Train opening at midday, everything else is scheduled to open at park open, and typically is. You may even find...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

Agree that the parks should always be looking for new and different experiences. Whilst BounceZilla is perhaps not quite the new and different experience people may have initially had in mind when thinking about Thorpe Park, I get the suspicion it will be something of a memory maker. I really wish t...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

But then again, most of GameFX (everything except the VR?) is free to use, and that looks as if it’s been a bit of a flop... so I don’t know, only time will tell I guess. What has surprised me is that the VR section has been perhaps the most popular part of GameFX, and has been growing in popularit...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

As posted on SouthParks social media , staff training has been occurring on BounceZilla today, in preparation for its opening next weekend. https://i.imgur.com/YyWicQA.jpg Part of the training appeared to involve a few staff members trying out a small portion of the attraction. They certainly looked...

Re: Project 2020

The feedback machine by the Witness Appeal sign has been just a regular feedback machine, with no new development specific questions.  I believe the hotel question is one of several legacy questions that have remained on the feedback machines across the Resort and are in some cases several seasons o...

Re: SAW: The Ride

So first let me just say that the theming here is good, just not at the level of the rest of the park. I did get a fastrack for it, so I may have missed some stuff out.  Some say the ride itself is the theming, a torture device in its own right. :sus: There's not a great deal more in the main outdo...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

The last time I went into the former I'm a Celebrity building, I came out extremely disappointed by what was the actor-less version of Vulkan Peak. So whilst the adverts that had been up around the entrance in previous weeks looked interesting, I was cautious as to what this attraction would actuall...

Re: Project 2020

I think the 4 yearly cycle has gone from Thorpe, definitely in the short term. I can't help but think the park went through a period of management pulling it in every direction and perhaps throwing more and more money into trying to fix Ghost Train. My suspicion is that once any management issues ha...

More construction hints, showing possibly part of the coaster track (although it seems too thin to me).

The latest part of the story are major roadworks leading into town, caused by ongoing ground works.

Re: The Merlin Annual Pass

As reported by TowersTimes , the Merlin VIP Annual Pass has been discontinued from today, with no new or renewal passes being sold. https://i.imgur.com/EQBVEBL.png This annual pass used to give unlimited fastrack at the UK resort theme parks along with other benefits. Given its premium value it's pe...

Re: Black Buccaneer

And it is now confirmed Black Buccaneer will not be operating throughout the 2019 season.

I'm nervous of the language the Resort has used, saying to keep watch to see if it returns.

Re: Black Buccaneer

As posted by SouthParks , Black Buccaneer has been removed from the Chessington website, with the only reference to it remaining as a map marker and info page on the Resort's app. https://www.southparks.co.uk/files/2017/03/20170311_img_0394_hursty.jpg Whilst the attraction had previously been listed...

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris

I hadn't fully appreciated the exact same ride was also going into California Adventure. :O The only thing I can think is that with Midway Mania being very popular at California Adventure, but without the space to expand it like in Hollywood Studios, they've essentially done the expansion by putting...

Re: Derren Brown's Ghost Train - Rise Of The Demon

It does seem to have gone down hill further since opening. I did two rides last weekend and in the first there were only 2 actors in the entire attraction, maybe 3 on the second. Whilst the second VR section had dual audio running, so as it was coming to the ending countdown I could also faintly hea...

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris

Whilst I love Midway Mania and Phantasialand's Maus Au Chocolat, it's a bit of a shame that's what they're doing with it.

I think it'll be good for Disneyland Paris, but I suspect it won't be a patch on Universal's Spiderman ride.

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019

It seems on most days they've taken two hours off the morning and added an hour in the evening, so an hour less overall on the majority of days. Guests booking hotel stays can opt to purchase a Dungeon ticket with timeslots starting from at least 11:30am, so the total number of operating hours shou...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019

As reported on TowersTimes social media , whilst the Dungeon will have a later opening, the attraction will typically operate the same number of hours a day, with operations continuing after park close on certain days. This change means that guests will have greater choice in managing their time bet...
