Re: Thorpe Park Resort - The Future

Well Thunder River used to have jets, so it's entirely doable. It feels to me that it used to have a couple of more rapids sections. Now there are about two places where you could get wet: just going into the tunnel; and at the rocks in the viewing area - where it should be noted you can get very ve...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - The Future

They certainty need to sort their food offerings out for 2020. Apart from Sombrero's and Wilderness waffles, there isn't anything on offer that in the slightest interests me. At some point I'm sure they'll add a new ride. The number of rides showing their age now is becoming a little concerning and ...

Re: Colossus

It certainly is a bit odd, and being right next to a bush having never been there before, may have raised some questions about what was happening from riders. :sus: Perhaps during the night it will be lit up and look a bit better. At times it did collect quite a cloud of smoke, whilst at other times...

Re: Colossus

Colossus now has a smoke effect between the 4th and 5th inversions (the corkscrews), which ranges from barely visible to being quite a lot of smoke. Presumably it's for Fright Nights. So don't be concerned if you see it, it's not a stray cigarette that's set the vegetation alight! Where have they m...

Park Railway - Altonia

Had an interesting suggested video pop-up this morning, which details the history and the mechanics of Altonia. Y7y2JqPquCw The engine is still operational and is maintained by volunteers at Old Kiln Light Railway just outside Farnham (coincidentally just down the road from Alton, Hampshire), who al...

Re: Stealth

So Stealth now hurtles into the station. Not sure whether they fixed the braking/drive tyre mechanism at the end of the ride during its downtime, but it's certainly better than the occasionally so slow to enter you wonder if it will, issue it had previously.

Re: Fright Nights

As reported by SouthParks News , construction is continuing for this year’s Fright Nights at Thorpe Park Resort. With BounceZilla removed, the shipping containers for The Walking Dead: Do or Die are now in place, with various theming items for this year's event being unpacked. https://i.imgur.com/7n...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - The Future

I wouldn't hold your hopes up for anything more than a repeat of 2019. Anything worthwhile built outdoors would require planning permission, which hasn't been sought, and the indoor attractions have only recently been updated so it's seems very unlikely anything significant will happen there. Maybe ...

Re: Scarefest - General Discussion

£60 is also a lot less than many other operators will charge, where you'll find they will typically charge that or more just for evening only entry. I also believe Towers have got their system for Halloween set up well. These events come with significant extra cost, which if you want to do it proper...

It might be too late in the season for me to go now, will have to look into it. Plus I dont want any of that "Love Island" rubbish, I’m not going into the park on one of those days.

The Resort have no Love Island branded events this year.

Re: Stealth

what is the state of play on Stealth, the last time I went (a couple of years ago) it was closed, and that didnt make me happy, is it now going to be open for the rest of the season? Stealth has just undergone a fairly extensive set of maintenance, and appears to be back in operation with good reli...

Re: Short London Trip - Help Needed!

I've not stayed at the Shark Hotel, so sadly can't give much of an input in that one. I know the rooms are very small, but you are inside the park, which given the park is open until 10pm could be beneficial! There are also meant to be scare actors at the hotel between 3-4pm and 9-10pm each day, whi...

Re: Fright Nights

Thorpe Park Resort is set to be “The Home of Fear” this Halloween! Featuring a brand new scare maze, Creek Freak Massacre, promising to be their most intense scare maze yet, the return of the Amity High vampires in a new show, and the return of some classic mazes, SouthParks News looks at all the de...

Re: Short London Trip - Help Needed!

If you have just a single day to travel and enjoy a park, I think Thorpe would be the better option of the two. Whilst it is possible to get from London to Alton Towers by public transport, you would probably spend the bulk of your time traveling. Thorpe Park has the benefit of being practically nex...

Re: Fright Nights

As posted on SouthParks , Creek Freak Massacre has been confirmed as one of the new “fears” for Fright Nights 2019 at Thorpe Park. Chainsaw-wielding lumberjacks have taken over the abandoned Creek Woods Saw Mill in this new maze which will take guests on a bloody path through the Resort’s most inten...

Re: Angry Birds Land

I did Angry Birds 4D today and... ...I loved it! Somehow this typically overlooked attraction felt like one of the best "theme park fun" attractions at the park. The auditorium is in fantastic condition, every effect works perfectly, and staff were massively playful. It even has bubbles! W...

Re: Stealth

Progress is more visible on Stealth. A train was on the track today, sat just before the station, with engineering and managers present at the station at one point. I'm sure I heard the distinctive Stealth hiss a couple of times, but at no point did I see the train be brought forward into the statio...

SouthParks came across some new roaming actors, The Crumblers. https://i.imgur.com/QSXyt40.jpg https://i.imgur.com/2HwUlwE.jpg With Baby Monster in tow, these family friendly zombies are suitable for everyone, only striking their special pose for the bravest guests. https://i.imgur.com/k3tJRHh.jpg ...
