Re: Alton Towers Ultimate Firework Spectacular

Apparently a fire broke out yesterday due to a rogue firework.. does anyone know anything about this who was there? the media seem to be making it sound a lot worse than it actually was. Regardless, what a way to almost end a season :lol Part of a tree caught alight from fireworks debris, resulting...

Re: Merlin General Discussion - New Owners agreed in £4.8bn deal

This is correct and is a very big week for Merlin Entertainments. As reported yesterday on TowersTimes social media , the final stages for Merlin Entertainments’ return to private ownership have got underway this week. Following a High Court agreement for the sale of the formerly publicly listed com...

Re: Rameses Revenge

As posted on SouthParks social media , the reign of Rameses Revenge comes to an end today at CWOA, performing its last spins at a special event this evening before being removed for a new attraction to take its place in 2021. Opening in 1995, the ride brought a unique spectacle to the UK, providing ...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - Quick Questions

Hi guys/gals! I'm new here. So I'm visiting Thorpe tomorrow for the Fright Night. However I'm currently struggling with anxiety relating to my size. So I’m quite a big lad. I play a bit of rugby etc. I'm around 18st 9lbs, Waist 38-40", Chest around 47". My gut doesn't stick out too much. ...

Halloween Horror Night 2019 Earlier in the month I went over to Universal Studios Orlando, and had a bit of a Halloween Horror Nights binge, visiting 8 nights and getting a whole lot of spookiness across 10 haunted houses, 5 scare zones, and 2 shows.  https://i.imgur.com/TOUU56Q.jpg Ghostbusters Th...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

So Samurai and Vortex have now given up, with Quantum looking suspiciously like it only operates Friday afternoons and the weekend.

The park appears extremely busy already this week, and I believe they opened Creek Freak Massacre early, possibly as a result of this.

In response to continued criticism over the lengthy delays on exiting the car park, a new parking system has been confirmed for 2020 to prevent site access issues.

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - The Future

I suspect next year will be a Season of Events Mk2 . Whilst its not impossible for a late installation of a flat ride somewhere, given no site work has started it's not immediately clear where they would put something, unless Samurai is declared at end of life. What's interesting is that next year w...

Re: Derren Brown's Ghost Train - Rise Of The Demon

I would have to assume that the costume has broken in some way. There were at least 2 costumes, but they took a fair amount of abuse from the actors performances, and the rubbery material is likely not easily repairable.

Unexpectedly, Thorpe Park have removed the passholder restrictions for weekdays next week. https://i.imgur.com/CXVm1Vi.jpg This week restrictions were, and still are for today, in place for all but premium passholders. It would appear that attendance has been low to moderate throughout the week, so ...

Re: The World of David Walliams - New for 2020

A full break down of the information currently provided by Alton Towers can be found on TowersTimes News . I think it's great that new life will be put into this area of the park. With the rumour having been floating around for a while, I wonder what role the installation of The Alton Towers Dungeon...

An even better use would have been a fully fledged Radiator Springs installation. But yeah, good that the tram tour is finally becoming a bit more consistently themed. I'm surprised they're keeping it though, given pretty much all tram tours except the one at Universal Hollywood have been torn out a...

The Disney Skyliner has reopened , albeit on a reduced timetable for part of this week. Initially running 8am until 10:30pm, then on Wednesday-Friday this week 1pm until 10:30pm, due to "system updates", with the Hollywood Studios line closed all day Wednesday. I wonder how long until thos...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - Quick Questions

Hey everyone, I have one day (Monday 21st Oct) to visit a park before the end of the season. I usually do Alton Towers but I’ve never been to Thorpe. Is a long round trip for me but as the opening hours are longer I thought it might be worthwhile. Do you think it’ll be very busy? Is it worth a 2.5 ...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

Has anyone else noticed the distinct lack of general advertisement by Merlin for Thorpe Park. Just looking through some emails and noticed that merlin advertised literally every other halloween event (even the London Eye event) but not Fright Nights. Anyone have any thoughts?  http://f.news.merline...

Re: Universal Orlando Resort

Some various construction updates from Veloci-coaster. Looks like they've been installing drainage, coming across existing drainage where they've been digging, installing a new retaining wall along the shore line and hammering something into the ground, perhaps footers for a static crane. Last week:...
