Re: Paultons Park

A new teaser image has been released by Paultons Park, showing the design for what I presume will be called Cyclonator.

Re: Tomb Blaster

I think it would be a terrible business move for Merlin to have more Donaldson IP. Unless they outright bought the IP, having so many attractions attached to a single owner, could mean they become really stuck, should anything sour with that relationship or license renewal costs increase.

Re: SAW: The Ride

Earlier thorpe posted an image of their map on Twitter, in which under saw it said that it had an age rating of 13+. The post has now been removed, could this be to do with saw's 10th anniversary? This appears to be a change from 2018, looking at last year's map. It's not listed as having actors in...

Re: Forum Quizzes

Thank you for running the quiz Dom. Even though I had to sit in the audience this time, it looked like you all had fun. :)

Have a good quiz master rest. Sounds like we have a responsibility now to maintain the tradition.

Re: Creative Ideas For new AT Attractions

The idea of appearing track is perhaps not as far fetched an idea as you might think. Intamin currently have a couple of new launched coasters that will be switching track whilst the ride is moving at speed. The first will be at Parc Asterix in 2021. uvjaTSSHxro This layout gives a fair amount of ti...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019

I kind of like this Dungeon. It looks like MMM put a lot of effort into theming this attraction in the space of 6 months. However, I am slightly disappointed they didn't make it into a new Toyland Tours, or something that fitted into the CCL area. From the Meet the Makers video, it certainly shows ...

Re: Overcoming fears: Tamest and most thrilling seat for each coaster

Learning to relax is a big part of getting the enjoyment from it all. The restraints, especially if you pull them very tight, will keep you in place. Tensing up against them will most likely make the whole thing feel worse. :) In terms of overall ride comfort, the middle of the train will typically ...

Re: Galactica - General Discussion

I really hope they remove all of the old signage, especially the marketing images in the monorail station. The ride staff will probably be fielding enough "where's the VR?" questions as it is. :lol I wonder if they'll increase any audio usage in the ride area, to give a greater Galactica f...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

It's the clearest and most representative of all the park maps this year. Would appear that the Living Nightmare pin on the online map is just something left over from Fight Nights, as it's not mentioned in this map at all. The back of it suggests that Walking Dead might be actor-less, which whilst ...

Re: Legoland Windsor Resort - General Discussion

The park was running a Lego Movie 2 event today. Emmet, Wyldstyle and Sweet Mayhem were around for meet and greets, with little to no queues for them in the afternoon. There was also an opportunity to help build a Lego Movie 2 mosaic. https://i.imgur.com/ZKlyUXM.jpg A scavenger hunt around Miniland,...

Re: The Haunted House Monster Party! - New for 2019

Having seen this today, the backend sure does look ugly, but thankfully there are some trees around it which should block some of it in the summer. Sadly, it sticks out a fair bit if you're watching the stunt show from in front of Pizza Pasta.

It's not the launch that you sit at the back for. It's being dragged at speed over the top-hat that you sit at the back for. :)

Re: Carowinds

That second launch over a little hill is going to be interesting, especially in the back! It's interesting how the Mack and Intamin multi-launch coasters seem to differ slightly on concept. The Mack's seem to control their speed, for more hang time and stalling effects. Whilst the Intamin's seem to ...

Re: Galactica - General Discussion

Well, technically VR wasn't on the front rows last year. :lol

I'm not sure it's gone completely, but to have the graphic updated certainly suggests they want the VR aspect of it downplayed at the very least.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Food and Beverage

Does seem odd to change the brands across all of the parks. It's not as if they drastically changed what they're selling either, we still have the chicken place and the pizza place. Seems a worthless additional cost in the rebranding. Although, from Chessington last week, it does appear they will us...
