Re: Alton Towers Ultimate Firework Spectacular

So for those of you who attended, what did we think of the fireworks this year? Better? Same as last year? Much better than last year, with the Sunday show being much much better than Saturday’s show... Timing seemed so much better, and everything seemed to work, whereas the rain hampered things on...

Re: What did you ride on your first visit?

What I rode on my first visit Nemesis Beastie (to get some photos of Nemesis from the top of that wonderful kiddie cred with my trusty disposable camera  :lol was a great view of Nemmies layout from up there, wonder if anybody else ever took advantage of that ride for photographing Nemmie, before th...

Reverchon are still in business and are currently installing the first of their new 2nd generation version of this ride in Germany.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Awesome... Was at Thorpe last week so wasn’t sure. They were, however, staggered the week before. Not that I blame them, EVERYTHING was walk on, and even with the openings like that, we had done everything, some things multiple times, by 1:30. Come to think of it, Monday was busier (and normal openi...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Anybody know if staggered openings are still operating tomorrow?

Every mid week visit I’ve done so far this year, they’ve not opened anything in KC, GW or FV until 12.

Guess it is because it is a fb linked acco...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019

There will be a backlash if it’s not included... MAP gets you into AT and all other dungeons... Why not AT Dungeon?

NO WAY am I paying to go into AT Dungeon as a MAP Holder... Not that I’m overly interested anyway.

Re: Traveling in your own

As Swarm says, travelling alone has it’s benefits. I got something like an hour and 15 minutes exclusive ride time on Taron at Phantasialand, where I was able to sit on the same train non stop!!! Absoloutely nobody I know (in the real world, not online) would have been up for that!!!

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

It hasn’t been demolished Scruffy. At least not yet. Looks like they’re just removing the facade that was damaged in the storm in October.

Re: Derren Brown's Ghost Train - Rise Of The Demon

What a waste of money. I can’t think of a ride that has ever dissapointed me more. I honestly wouldn’t care at all if they closed it now. Apart from the fact it regulary ‘stores’ people in it’s queue for well over an hour meaning I get to ride the coasters more!!! The restraints on Collossus really ...

Re: SW9

Launch coasters aren't gimmicks in any way. In practical terms, they are perfectly suited to a park like Alton Towers which cannot have a high lift hill in most areas. We need a thrill ride for SW9, it has been nearly 6 years since the last one. An Intamin blitz in Forbidden Valley would do the job...

4 years between major additions seems reasonable anyway. Maybe there’s hope fior Wintertraum?

Re: Nemesis - General Discussion

I've found Nemesis to be quite tame this season. Not sure why. Its also a shame that the back row is still restricted to disabled pass but I understand their thinking. I tried front row for the first time in April. Unfortunately it didn't live up to the hype and got off thinking 'meh' If you go on ...

Re: Rita - General Discussion

Could they have been just wearing new wheels in? I haven’t found it to be rough at all, but my first visit last year was at the end of June. I think it would depend on the cause of the roughness. New and old wheels can apparently make a coaster rough. That’s easy. Wear the wheels in / change the whe...

Ride Sims 2

www.ridesims.com went live with Ride Sims 2 today. Had fun operating Taron, Helix and Baron this afternoon.

Needs to be accessed from a computer with flash installed. NO HANDHELD SUPPORT. Macbook Pro users should use Chrome not Safari, as keyboard controls were not working for me in Safari.

Re: Phantasialand

Looking like a capsule hotel isn’t it? Which is great, because I think PL’s hotels are already reasonable, especially with the annual pass discount, presumably a capsule hotel will be cheaper still.
