Re: Closed park

A few peeps from TTF are there today and say that most of the rides are closed.  (RITA, 13, Oblivion, Flume, Sky Ride, Enterprise to name but a few).  I think they said Nemesis was open though, as is Hex, which was closed yesterday.  Lots of tree felling taking place too.  Weathe...

Not sure if it is related to last weeks incident, but today the Sky Ride is unavailable.

I guess I'm not your average Northerner then. :).  I love travelling on the Tube.
I have no fear. :))

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (May Contain Spoilers)

Just to confirm, the strobes were working today.  :D  Makes for a much better experience when it comes to the 'Evacuation'.  Again, general consensus from Joe Public seemed very psoitive.

Re: Skyride Today

Ahh, so that would explain why we were told to leave the queue.  It seem to of been able to continue running at some point to evacuate everyone via the stations as all the Gondolas were empty at 5.30, or at least looked like they were.   Don't think it is related, but earlier in the day, w...

Re: MINI MEET: Camelot - 15th April 2012

Just putting some feelers out to see if anybody is interested in some Laser Quest fun at Trafford Centre after Camelot on Sunday?  Myself and Alex were looking at heading up that way anyway for possibly Cinema and/or food, but if there is enough interest, maybe do Laser Quest instead.  The...

Re: MINI MEET: Camelot - 15th April 2012

Just another reminder,  I have some BOGOF's for Camelot.  At the mo there is just myself & Dan using one.  So if anyone else going can find themselves someone to buddy up with, there will be others available too, but only if I know they are needed.  :D  Saves a couples o...

Re: Hex - Cinema Video

It was the same last Saturday.  It certainly is a fault.  The picture is also very pixalated and breaking up quite a bit.
Very nearly Impossible to see the video with any clarity.

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (May Contain Spoilers)

Since I've got a few minutes spare (in the Alton Towers Hotel right now! :D ) I'll add a few little views of mine. The first lift has no effect whatsoever. If it was not for the lights I wouldn't have believed anything was happening. On my first ride a girl looked up to her father "we're not m...

Re: Alton Towers 2012 in Review

Couple of things to note today :- There seems to be an issue with the video on Hex.  Is very pixelated, and lots of areas that are just red.  Very difficult to actually see any picture.  My thought was it looked like the video had been ran through a Sinclair Spectrum or some similar 8...

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (May Contain Spoilers)

Had 3 goes on Sub Terra today.  Never really had anything more than a 20 minute queue despite the information boards suggesting rather higher  Any, on we went, with much anticipation over the improvements which had allegedly been made to the attraction.  I had feared the worst, ...

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (May Contain Spoilers)

It is good to hear that Alton Towers have taken on board a lot of the criticism and general negative impression of Sub Terra and made some much needed improvements. Will be there tomorrow, my first visit since opening weekend, so I will look forward to seeing how these changes have made a difference...

Re: MINI MEET: Camelot - 15th April 2012

I forgot to mention, but I have some 2 for 1 vouchers if anybody needs them.  Have teamed up with Dan for mine, but have plenty more to go around if anyone would like one,  (You will need a willing partner first though  :D).  Will make it £14 each then, which is just about bearab...

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (May Contain Spoilers)

Managed 3 goes of Sub Terra today :- Overall, I think the experience is quite good.  I liked the 'rushed' feeling, the shouting and the attempt to install a bit of panic in people.  All the kind of psychological  stuff.  The theming was fairly good too, however the actual drop wa...

Re: MINI MEET - Thorpe Park - Opening day, Thursday 15th March

Had a great day.  Really nice chilled out day ambling around park.  After the fog cleared, weather was lovely warm and sunny.  Shame Rush was down, other than that reliability seemed quite good.  Also most of the staff seemed to be really nice and genuinely friendly.  The ne...

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm

My thoughts on The Swarm :- Theming around the area looks much better than many of the photo's I had seen suggested.  The ride itself kind of grew on me over the day.  First ride I thought was OK, but riding it in a variety of rows/seats, including back and front, by the end of the day the...

Re: Park Opening Hours 2012

It's all very well extending ride close from 4 until 5pm when guest figures reach a certain amount, but, assuming that decision is made on the day, rather than a few days before hand, it will be a bit too late to capture those people who may of been planning a trip, checked the AT web site and seen ...

Re: Park Opening Hours 2012

Open for 6 hours?  I can't see them selling many of those £22 meal deals then?   Though the upsell of them will be there.  Joking aside though, 6 hours opening for what is supposed to be one of the UK's premier Theme Parks is nothing short of laughable, especially o...

Re: The "I feel happy" Topic

I'm happy  :D  (There's a first for everything so they say  :?)

So many exciting trips/days put/holidays planned for best part of this year, plus other good things.  Kind of outweighs some of the negatives that hover around ready to pounce.  :D
