Is the Single rider queue still open this season with social distancing etc? It’s currently unavailable due to the fact that it involves filling empty seats by seating strangers with other groups, which is obviously not permitted under current restrictions. However, there’s no Fastrack either and R...
This is a shame but not surprising, their attendance has been close to zero for the past few years since the incident on Tsunami - just watch one of TPWW’s vlogs from 2018, 30 degree heat and walk on queues. It looked like it was a terrible park but not without potential, hope someone manages to bu...
I also think it’s the right size for a desk, maybe an extra one for annual pass purchases/renewals/collection? It could take some of the strain off the box office on busy days
I highly enjoyed the 2019 season, probably the best in a while (unless this year tops it). Dungeons were surprisingly good and reasonably priced, some of the disagreeable operational decisions made in 2018 were reversed, the surprise Nemesis event with John Wardley was really cool and during the las...
The hotels and waterpark open back up this weekend after their winter maintenance periods, maybe we’ll start hearing more about what’s been going on around the theme park in the coming weeks
Would this be cool? https://i.imgur.com/jRCw3my.jpg Basically, mics in the ceiling, speakers near the floor (to avoid feedback), mics pic up what people are saying as they queue or leave the ride, then its played back through the speakers with an effect added like delay (echo), pitched up or down, ...
As of this Wednesday, the buyout is officially complete and Merlin goes back to being a private company, formally under new ownership. Let the speculations for the future commence
Remember this rumour? Turns out it’s actually happening! I for one approve as it’s an appropriate replacement for the area before it. Hopefully we see some planning permission soon if there’s meant to be a new ride in there (presumably a dark ride) https://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/whats-on/alton-tow...
I think the issue might not be with the gondola itself, but with the motors underneath it - if they needed replacing, you’d have to take the boat out the pit first
You think there’ll be any more progress on this retheme now Scarefest’s on the way? As of the weekend just gone I believe the rides in CCL were still open, the rumour was the area would close for the preparation work after the end of summer.
Having not been to AT in August for a long time, could anyone give me an idea as to what queue times will be like Tuesday? I'm guessing quieter than August weekends but then again, with school holidays is it just as busy weekdays too? Generally 30-45 mins at the moment. Wicker Man and Smiler will b...
Given the font style, it’s definitely some sort of new kids area - if House of Monsters did actually return for Scarefest 2020 would it be in a different location?
Depends what they can bring to the table - I hope the non-Lego parks still retain their own identity, I mean, a Lego themed area to replace CCL would be great, but Alton Towers is still Alton Towers and future lands/Secret Weapons still need to have their own original theme
