Re: Alton Towers Resort - Music and Videos

Only noticed it for the first time today, but on the Monorail, specifically the Jelly Bean train the music is very similar to the old CWoAR entrance music! Brought back a lot of memories for me, it’s normally so quiet that I’ve never really noticed it until now! Has anyone had the same thoughts?

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

I think the "until further notice" term has been written by the reporter, rather than being a statement from Towers itself. Whatever the issue is, I'm sure all parties involved are working as fast as possible to get it back up and running again. Yes I thought the exact same thing! Like me...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

So it would appear Alton Towers have released a statement saying that Wicker Man is closed until further notice. Maybe it's true that GCI are coming out to survey the problem. Re: Wicker Man - General Discussion

I’ve been hearing that Wicker Man is closed and is likely to be closed for a few days? Is this true and can anyone shed some light on it? I’m visiting Tues-Thurs and don’t want it to be closed.

Re: Loggers Leap [Retired]

Well it's definitely not re-opening.  :P It would be fairly amazing if the park now quietly forgets about the auction, given the way they made such a big thing about its definite removal and subsequent auction in the run-up to the season starting. I guess the auction is expected to make a splash-ba...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

Jungle Escape has now dropped in price by £3 across all tickets to be: £7 on the day; £6 pre-booked; and £5 for annual pass. Thorpe Park in “upcharge attraction not being as successful as we hoped so we’re having to drop the price” shocker. Along with the AT Dungeon struggling to attract visitors t...

Re: Black Buccaneer

And it is now confirmed Black Buccaneer will not be operating throughout the 2019 season. I'm nervous of the language the Resort has used, saying to keep watch to see if it returns. I’m equally nervous of the language..could this be a repeat of Loggers Leap (Dare I say it) another make it sound lik...

Re: Vampire

That used to be an entertaining feature of the Vampire, especially on the original trains. Will you get stopped on the second lift hill and then be able to wave at people at the game stands? Makes me wonder how it operated so well for so many years, but then suddenly dispatch times slowed massively...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

The car park exit is still becoming a serious issue this season, despite of the promise of investments, it really is a big problem and it took me 90 mins to get out the car park earlier in the week. It’s such a shame as really doesn’t leave guests feeling anything but angry at the end of the day, es...

Re: Vampire

It’s certainly not running very good operations these days. Back when I was working on the ride as an operator/attendant we were running a 3 train operation, it was then decided that as sometimes the trains were not dispatched quickly enough (due to guests not getting on quickly, needing to re-check...

Re: Chessington - General Discussion

So it seems Black Buccaneer, Seastorm and Tiger Rock still haven’t completed winter maintenance which is disappointing considering Chessington has been open for the 2019 season for a bit now. Has anyone got any updates on these. I’m going on Weds but looks unlikely they’ll be open soon from what I’...

Re: Rumba Rapids

Really enjoyed Rumba on Friday, definitely felt as if it was moving quicker and more rough, meaning people actually got ‘wet’ for a change! Much improved, they just need to bring back the old water effects now from the Thunder River days and it’ll be even better!

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

Has anyone see the new Thorpe advert? I personally think it’s really poor! Too many repetitions of the phrase “like no other” it’s just overkill and really irritating! What’s everyone else’s thoughts?

Re: SAW: The Ride

Does anyone know why the age recommendation was added? Haven’t heard anything that shows the attraction has changed in anyway? There is currently nothing of note different in the attraction. It's possible that the age recommendation hadn't actually changed, rather it just hadn't been on the map for...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

So Thorpe announced an offer this morning via social media which looks to be a really good one for those without a MAP or season pass. The offer is in until 31st March, which despite there lack of new offering this season (other than the events) should hopefully help bump the amount of visitors comi...

Re: Galactica - General Discussion

That’s an interesting spot! It wasn’t working very well last season as we know, so whether it’s gone or not, it was about time they downplayed the whole VR thing!
