Re: SW9

The Dark Forest area of the park isn’t small yet the way it’s currently laid out makes it feel pokey and cramped. There is potential to do a lot with it if they can be creative.

Re: Wicker Man - General Discussion

It’s nice to see the flames are on today, I’ve been 3 times this year and this is the first time I’ve seen them on.

Re: Heritage

My favourite part of the gardens has to be the pagoda fountain. I haven’t seen it on for a while but I’ve always been impressed with the huge plume of water and how enclosed and special the area feels.

Re: SW9

I can’t say I’ve been a fan of the Rita area since UG Land went. The Dark Forest theme feels a little ‘tacked on’ when you can still see the Ug Land theming throughly the paint. Definitely a candidate for a retheme, I agree.

Re: Future Plans for the Towers themselves

I would love to see the park utilising the Towers more, I always loved what they did with Hex, so any restoration work is good with me!

Re: Alton Towers Resort Future - General Discussion

I think that Cloud Cuckoo Land has some great potential to make a new themed area. I normally only go there when on a school trip (the education centre is located there) but it has been looking a bit sad and empty for the last two years.

Re: SW9

Is there enough space in cloud cuckoo land for a coaster? I could see some thrilling flats but I’m not sure what the size of the area is like.

Yeah, it lacks a certain attention to detail.

Re: Alton Towers 40th Anniversary in 2020

I do think CCL needs some serious attention, it used to be such a busy place but now almost all the buildings are not used and there is very little to bring people there. It’s the area of the park that I think has the most potential for a complete redevelopment without much headache from the planner...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

I was using google street view to look around Alton Towers the other week. The pictures are quite old so you can see ripsaw in full swing and the crowds queuing, watching and using the food outlets. That area is a shadow of its former self.

Re: Galactica - General Discussion

The idea behind the theme of Air was great, and I loved it, but it was a quite 90’s look so I think it did need updating. I just wished they had spent the VR money on theming instead, the underground car park theme isn’t to everyone’s taste...

Re: Funny Things You've Overheard at Parks

Today I heard my favourite thing I’ve ever overheard at Alton Towers. A mum was talking to her kid and said “I wish you would hurry up and grow faster so that I can take you on Nemesis!”

Re: Alton Towers 9th/10th April!

I’ll be there on the 10th doing a solo trip. Well, it’s technically a reconnaissance trip as I’m planning a visit with my school to look at the physics of rollercoasters! My many job is to work out which rides my ‘pleasenlty plump’ body will fit in...

Re: Recent Visit (23/03/2019)

Sounds like a great trip! Did you pass on the name of the good member of staff to the park? I like to do that when possible with all sorts of businesses as most companies have a program of some sorts to reward staff like that. I’m heading to the park in two weeks during the Easter holidays and I am ...

Re: Your friend neighborhood cowards update

Although I haven’t been much in recent years the staff have always been a highlight for me. As someone who books and deals with a lot of school and Scout trips, I always find dealing with staff at Alton Towers to be a pleasure. As for the rides, I can’t help as I haven’t ridden Wicker Man yet, but I...
