Re: Alton Towers Staff on X-Factor

I absolutely cannot stand X Factor, but watching that makes me understand why people do. Fair play to the both of them trying to achieve something they both really want. I felt sorry for that chap though as they were all complementing the lass and leaving the chap out. I admit she was better than he...

Re: Xcelerator cable snapped caught on camera!

Some may look at this and think immediately that the park is to blame, but surely Intamin have to take the majority of the blame. Don't get me wrong, I love Intamin rides as they have created many brilliant rides and come up with all sorts of unique ways of doing things, such as their Hydraulic laun...

Re: 2009 Park Map

I highly doubt that they would advertise Rita as part of CCL. They won't want any ride that doesn't abide by the theme or target audience to be there, which is why The Flume wasn't in Mutiny Bay last year. Very true, except The Flume was part of Kantanga Canyon last year, and lets face it, theres n...

Re: Oblivion - Too Scary?

I dont think the ride is too scary at all, infact, i dont find it scary in the slightest. Its just great fun! I believe that the main reason for the small queues are down to the throughput. The staff on Oblivion are always trying to beat the record of trains per hour. But old Blivvy still can pull i...

Re: Alton Towers' Best Flat Thrill Ride

The best flat in the park has to be Ripsaw. But it's a shame that it seems to be on the same boring and quick program these days. For me, Enterprise is just too common and Submission just isnt that fun! The Blade is still a classic though and is always a good laugh. I went on during scarefest with a...

Re: Annual Pass Holders...Do you ever get bored of visiting AT?

When I was on park recently, i was very, very tempted to buy an annual pass, but i can never quite bring myself to do it. Why? It's hard to say why, it's very hard to explain. As a kid, my once-a-year visits back in the 90's were the most exciting times of my life to date. I got overly excited every...

Re: Why do you love Alton Towers?

Its weird, I was just thinking about this sort of thing the other day after my latest trip to Alton. When i go to Alton Towers thesedays, i always have a good time. Yet, it still doesn't feel like it used to. When I used to go to Alton a few years back, I used to get so excited. I'd be thinking abou...

Re: Quick Questions 2008

Lovely, thanks for the swift reply Dan, much appreciated :)

Another quick question, but when it comes to annual pass discounts, are they just for the holder, or can they be used by everyone in the group that your with?

Thanks

I say they theme a train on each area of the park. Imagine how good they could look themed around X-Sector or Forbidden Valley. Thats exactly what they should have done! If they would have done this, then not only does it promote the park, but it would look world class. Imagine stepping onto an X-s...

Personally, I wouldn't want to see KFC and Pizza Hut leave the park. I think these units are very good and proove popular with the guests. They are no more expensive than the high street versions of these chains, and the service is normally very quick. So purely because you can just go in and eat pr...

Ive always thought about this myself. Obviously inversions don't make a ride great, but they can make a great ride awesome. Alton could really do with at least one more rollercoaster with a few inversions. When you look at rides like Colossus, the layout is packed full of inversions and Colossus is ...

I must admit that all the monorail trains are a vast improvement on what we had before. Its just a shame that after the splash landings train, and the Mutiny Bay train that some of the designs have gone off track (no pun intended). If all the trains were themed around the rides then we could of had ...

I've got to say that these images look excellent, and really show off the park at it's very best. If this sort of style is used throughout the park in 2008, I think we're in for one of the best seasons this millenium.

Alton Towers 04/11/07

Went for my first trip of the season on the last day of the season. It was a very good day and here's my brief report. Arrived at about 9.45 and was desperate for the toilet so I went into the ones on Towers Street, and my god they're weird! The noises are kinda funny but annoying at the same time. ...

Also, does anyone know how much the YourDay Dvds are now, are they still £15? I just want to know as im going on sunday and want to know which to get. Than...

Thorpe Park really has a much bigger reputation now. People really should avoid half term though as all the rest of the fright nights have been fairly quiet. Glad i went the week before half term! :)
