Re: Smoking

Like hell was I going to miss this topic! Well, I've actually given up smoking, about 6 months ago infact. I am still staunchly pro-smoking and everything I said all those years ago still stands. But personal choice is the ultimate winner. If you enjoy smoking, then do it, if you don't then don't. I...

Re: Taking Liberties

I do understand Libertarianism. It isn't the same as Communism, and I didn't intone anything of the sort, as is patently clear to anyone who read the post properly. Indeed your assertion that it's the opposite only seeks to reaffirm the fact in my mind that it is a utopian ideology, like Communism ...

Re: Taking Liberties

I'm going to leave most of what you said alone - not because I agree with all of it, but - well because I can't be arsed to go through it. Unfortunatly my friend, you've just picked a debate with someone who can be arsed. The fun starts here. All I really wanted to do was warn people that a book wr...

Re: Taking Liberties

:? I wonder if this thread is being monitored? :? For all we know the police are already on their way to pick us up! Alarmingly enough that is quite likely. Anyone interested in liberties and the state of british society should read 'the rotten state of Britain' by Eamon Butler, he's the chairman o...

Hahaha, that got me good, I was actually in cambridge on that date bizzarely enough, had a gig up there.

IMO, Brown is somewhat a victim of circumstances. We are seeing a world wide slow down in the economy, and frankly, compared to the problems that other countries are facing, such as the US, the UK is merely riding a slightly unpleasent storm. Unemployment rates across europe are skyrocketing, home r...

Proportional representational systems only poduce weak leadership because they allow coalitions, the solution here is so painfully obvious its barely worth discussing. have a PR voting systemn but make the final stage FPTP. PR can collect the votes in a much fairer and representative way, but then t...

Stealth for me, Partly to do with the seat designs, I'm at just the wrong height for those seats, going round corners the shoulder restraints chaif my neck. Stealth wins it for me because it has no High speed corners, and the crest of the hill is superb.

once on nemesis after a lot of rain the lake water level had risen so they found a staff member with long legs and sent them around to check they came back with dry feet At those speeds, hitting water is like hitting a brick wall, I'f i'd been that staff member I'd have had a hard job not tucking m...

Air Theme

Was that the old Air theme being played over the tannoy at the carling cup final today? I heard it on the radio during half time in the background.

Anyone else hear it, or can confirm that that was what was playing?

It probably depends on how traumatic the 'getting stuck' is. or stuck just before the drop on oblivion Just for reference, it's impossible to get stuck on the hang over Oblivions hole, even if the power goes or the Emergency Stop is pressed, once it's passed the last break run (the bit before the d...

I like the idea, but personally I would prefer to see something more surreal and mythical, the further away from present day reality, the better IMO. Coaster Corner seems unlikely to me, the reason it was taken down in the first place (if I remember correctly) is because it was too near to Alton vil...

This seems as good a place as any to ask this: does anyone know if the new road will replace the current entrance or be used alongside it? For me using the bypass will involve going a long way round (I come in via leek for anyone who knows that route) That concern aside, the new road will still be ...

First time I've realised the access route with completely kill the last of the magic. Going through the trees and such was and is soo lovely and atmospheric, will be a shame if they replace it with an alternative route. Oh well, hopefully AT's new era will be as good as it's last. Hmm, I'm not sure...
