Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019

I can't say I'll be doing it if it requires extra payment - Especially as Alton Towers is already expensive enough!

Re: Which SW coaster do you think will be removed first

Was there a reason Rita was missed from the above poll? With Air's new investment I can't see it going anywhere anytime soon as much as I wish they had rethemed it to match the area. I would say Smiler will put the nail in it's own coffin if it has another accident so I hope not there. Oblivion whil...

Re: Scariest moments at Alton Towers

Definatly SubTerror. I've now been on it a few times, 3 to be exact. The first time I had a full on panic attack which caused some of the ride hosts to come out at the end to make sure I was ok because I full on froze whilst in the maze at the end. I hated it. The second time I went with my husband ...

Re: The Future Of Scarefest

Personally, I go to Scarefest but never engage in any of the mazes. I am a terrible jump scarer. I get scared easy. It's not for me. My husband and FIL love them so next time I think I will find a quiet place to wait for them to do the ma\es, as me personally cant manage. Also paying otu the extra c...

Can honestly say I've never used it and never seen the point to it. But it must be popular to be looked after.

Re: Ride Closures/Removals in 2016

To me this all seems too much. Dark Forest all the eateries shut? They always seemed busy to us. Now if this is early season, pray it gets better in later season, as surely their foot outlets that they have currently got open can not sustain the summer crowds

I love this ride pre and post sonic. It's been a good laugh and it's always been a little bumpy but awesome.

The good thing with the theme of this ride is that warning signs like that fit brilliantly onto the queline's and entry gates

I agree. I was suprised there were no warning signs saying that if you are epileptic for example not to ripe!

Re: Worst Experiences at Towers?

I was queueing for TH13TEEN at that very moment! 45 minute delay in that weather! We weren't hooded or under trees! Really was a poor day to go, is it just me or did you feel the whole feel of 'IT' was completely different? Alton wasn't really offering the magic it usually does. It didn't feel magi...

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (**contains spoilers**)

I visited Alton Towers yesterday to ride Sub-Terra (BTW scared witless ahah but I feel there should be more signs warning about how overwhelming it is, I had to help a little boy out because he was crying, but nonetheless I thought it was brilliant, the drop should have been deeper though, would ha...

Trip Report 16/07/2012

So first trip to AT this year and second trip in two years(usually only happens every two years!) so very excited. Entered the park at a nice 9:50ish am bought our tickets and walked down to Forbidden Valley. Walked through the Haunted Hollow for a giggle. I point out it was TORRENTIAL rain all day....

Re: Help With Complaining

Good luck with complaining. Just to point out its not 'just' £40 to come back another day even with the discounts. That is not acceptable compensation if you say have travelled. For me to revisit if I were offered this compensation there is the cost of the drive totally £40-£60. The carparking total...

Re: planning my daughters first trip to the towers.

I would get yourself down into Forbidden Valley and ride nemesis first. It is the most exhilerating feeling. heres my order. RUn to Forbidden Valley Nemesis Air Ripsaw Blade (if you like that sorta thing) Sky Ride to Dark Forest Hex (Break recovery) Rita Th13teen Ice Age (nice break again) Check rid...

Re: Ice Age - The 4-D Experience Discussion

Very happy with Ice Age. Good laugh, we queued for about 10-15 mins. I agree though set show times. If you arrive and queue for a show and can't get in then get a ticket for a later one (fast pass to make sure you get in) but ONLY if you've queued for 10 mins before show (not just shown up)

Re: Worst Experiences at Towers?

It just annoys me that the park is left in such a shabby state throughout this time of year. Even some of the ride queues weren't playing the theme tunes. It seems that AT just use this time of year to make lots of money on tickets and save money as much as possible and wherever possible. 4 rides c...

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (**contains spoilers**)

I rode it today and was beyond terrified. I had a panic attack on the ride and had to be led by my poor friend off it. Didnt see any of the effects for having eyes shut. One man however stuck his head out after we FINALLY excited the maze to make sure I was ok, compared to the one before him who jus...

Re: Nemesis: Sub-terra (contains spoilers)

I have to say I was TERRIFIED! We get on, theres the two guards barking orders and your ushered into the lift. Feeling nervous we go sit in our seats. We see the egg and have some video...Then the lights went out and that was it. I was scared. Really scared. THe drop, things poking, air and water......
