Re: I'm getting worried about Air

I went to AT from the 5th of July to the 7th and every time I went onto Air I noticed its getting quite bumpy in places, and it's getting worse, Air is not ageing well, yes it's an 11 year old ride but, really, it's suppose to be relaxing. Also the once sleek station is getting in an absolute state,...

Re: Thorpe Park Next Coaster

Thorpe Park's Facebook page have uploaded a picture of El Toro with the caption 'would you?' Are they debating getting a woodie similar?! :D Judging by the comments everyone is up for one! \:D/ I wouldn't be surprised if Thorpe Park outsources their social media accounts to a marketing company who ...

The cheapest thing they could do is turn the cars round and go backwards.

Interesting...perhaps a few cars reversed and theme is on the lines of 'being dragged into oblivion'

Might I ask how many GCIs have you  ridden?

GCIs are awesome coasters- I think a woodie is the way forward

Re: Thorpe Park Next Coaster

^ Your forgetting that Cedar Point lacks flats, and Thorpe has quite a few... But still, you're right. £40+ is ridiculous for Thorpe, and Alton for that matter. Been thinking about the £40+ entry prices for Thorpe & Alton And I have come to the conclusion that this is nothing more than a Market...

Re: Oblivion Floorless

Hmm... This would be a expensive conversion! A lot of remodelling of the station & I doubt it would really add much marketing value. This ride is still pretty intimidating!

Re: Thorpe Park 2015 Coaster

but I think the coaster is postponed in 2016, in 2015 is expected to be built gardaland Huh? Merlin own both Thorpe and Gardaland - nothing is stopping them opening a coaster in each. If Thorpe want a coaster for April opening 2015 then they have another 9 months before any ground works need to sta...

Re: TH13TEEN - Improvements

I really like the idea of different drop sequences as it would make the re-rideability factor a lot better... even though i would still happily ride it again and again, would be so much better not knowing what sort of drop sequence you're going to get will definitely get the nerves going making it ...

Re: Nemesis Backwards!

that would be awesome on nemesis :D but I'd say better on oblivion. I bet if they did it, it would be a scarefest only thing and would increase the queue time like hell! alton are  not going to change a ride car just for scare fest that would be extremely expensive and silly. On the topic of n...

Re: Seat Sizes & Restraints - Help!

Hi, I know this has been brought up before but I would  appreciate any help anyone can offer.... Last September I went to Thorpe park and could not go on some of the rides because of my size. I was over 19 stone, since then I have lost 18 pounds ans still losing but.....I have planned a trip t...

Stalled! This is bad- just remember you crazy at fans it's a new ride and bound to have teething problems, so don't take it out on the staff :)

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

Already emailed them! I'm so burnt it hurts, the quelines was torture with heat, ride broken and the smiler music, which is go awful when you've listens to it for 2 hours. One thing I will say the staff were great, it's not their fault and many people were unhappy , but free re- entry was great

I get these breakdowns happen with every ride, but what do you think the probability of it being open tomorrow are? And if so, what time? Has Saw ever had a similar breakdown and was it fixed overnight?

I believe at its opening day the v lift was causing problems

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

They've just closed the queue line to lots of angry people as the ride has "technical issues". There are people stuck just before the vertical lift that need evacuating and by time they do that and fix the problem they've taken the decision to close... Makes sense but there's some very an...

I would be against this if it was for a limited time

Would add a new spin to the ride but maybe do this in the quieter parts of the season

Re: The Smiler - Marketing [May Contain Spoilers]

What I hate about this is they still plugging the Smiler during prime time tv. Not sure if every region sees the ad but as the park don't  have no clue when the ride gonna open. The normal GP don't know that the ride not open after watching that ad as they not fans of theme park websites. It's...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Dissapointing- but I'd much rather ride be right, safe and as many of the kinks signed off before it opens

I wonder house much all these delays are going to cost, and considering AT have probably had to pull all advertising bookings- which I imagine is a lot money wasted!

Re: What is Your Favourite Advert?

From a marketing POV it has to be Rita. As in the best Alton Towers Ride ever creative. From a marketing prospective it portrayed a generally poor layout ride into a particularly exciting proposition. Plus I looked the whole personification or Rita Creatively Oblivion. That image of what is a hell b...

Re: Thorpe Park 2015 Coaster

Guys, just face it, thorpe park wont get a woodie. It'll either be B&M, Intamin or Mack. Just because the GP and I quote.... "Don't get them"..... If were not getting a wooden coaster, the only LOGICAL explanation for Thorpe is a MegaLite...... or something like Skyrush at Hershey Par...
