Re: People Smoking Outside Of Designated Areas

Technically breaking a rule in which you have no say if you accept it or not, does not feature as rule of entry on the back of your ticket and a rule which breaks UK law...... ......it is a stupid rule that has not been thought out properly. What we are left with is AT's half arsed attempt at tryin...

Re: Quick Questions

I've been led to believe that there's a path of some description from near the hotel carparks that will lead you onto the old churnet valley railway line, walking route. Is this the case?

Well the kids aren't back in School in Stockport, so I'm guessing others aren't either.

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

  2. If this is health and safety re fire exits etc surely this would have been signed off before the ride is complete...in no way do I believe when the plans where submitted that h&s will not have looked at them and said they needed to change things if needed.  3 I believe and this i...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

I'm not sure that is the Roper's house, I walked by it just after Christmas, the front gate was't usable and it appeared as if it was being used by as offices for the construction of the Smiler. I can't see the Roper's allowing AT to park construction machinery on their land.

Re: Complaints about 2013 staff

As I said I before, I have worked there and I know there procedure. They ignore you until you kick up a fuss. I have visited the park since 1979 before it was a theme park, so I pretty much know the place inside out. With regards to your knowledge of customer service, I know a brush off when I see ...

Re: Complaints about 2013 staff

Update.... Guest services have just emailed me in regards to my complaint just your bog standard generated email saying they will look in to it what a joke . All good customer services departments will reply with an acknowledgement as soon as possible to let you know that they've received your issu...

Re: 2013 annual pass drinks capsules ANGRY

I think people are missing the point here, I wont get one of the kids cards stamped as I don't want my kids wandering off to refill the capsule and the below statement applies also. All I am saying is that both adults buying a family pass should be able to have the passes stamped so either of them ...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

If the 2 main runs of track are to "duel" then both trains will have to leave their respective lift hills at the same time, therefore the time it takes a train to go from cresting the first lift hill to cresting the second lift hill should be equal to the length of time it takes to reach t...

Re: Quick Questions 2012

If I were to stay in the Hotel but buy park tickets with a 241 do I have to go to the park gate as normal or can I buy them somewhere in the hotel?

Re: What Cuts Would You Make?

I'd cut the assumption that shareholders should receive an increased dividend on their investment year on year. Profit should be generated from money left over after providing a service. Profit shouldn't be earmarked for a pocket and then the service decided upon by what is left over. Everything is ...

Re: News: Reduced Attraction Operating Hours

Basicly you are all (or most of you) saying that anything Alton do, to try and save money will not work! However you all suggest ideas, but they are all different. So how can they possibly please you all!? How can they please us all? Well that's quite easy, if you are paying more for entry this yea...

Re: 2012: Nemesis Sub-Terra... Part 2

I don't think it looks 'rusty', it's just been made to look less 'brand new' as at Half Term it was a shinny green colour. I think the touches of themeing and bits of added dirt etc. will just make the building fit into the surroundings a little more instead of looking like a Tesco Express has open...

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm

Forgive me if I dare to expect something remarkable from a company that built something as intense and as dynamic as Nemesis was 18 years ago. This is a completely outrageous hash of a £20m budget for a major ride, in my view - which I should be able to make without receiving direct insults from ha...

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm

I disagree it is negative. There are some individuals who appear over negative, yes, but don't let that cloud your vision. The general response to Swarm is positive on here. That said, I remain disappointed by the general track/train. I would be kidding myself I didn't say that the POV doesn't exci...

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm

The inline twist and station interaction looks cool, but apart from that, the POV is disappointing - but not surprising. I'm fully-expecting to be slating it once I've rode. This isn't aimed at just you but there is an overwhelmingly negative attitude among some on this and other boards and I just ...

Re: Covered Entrance Plaza?

It has to be pre 1992 and I'm almost certain pre 1991. My first visit was in 1991 and I don't recall it from then.I have a very vivid memory from my second visit in 1992, I remember as we got off the Monorail it started raining, and the whole crowd of people were taking shelter in the Monorails exit...

Re: 2012: Nemesis Sub-Terra... Part 2

The audio version of the story (Which I think most of us know most of the story from) doesn't seem to specify about the trains, but it does explain the track: It took two hundred and fifty tons of steel and two hundred men... Not ordinary men, not ordinary steel... Pinned down by this massive struc...

Even if it isn't always on a good programme, with Rush no longer what it was, I would say it is my favourite flat at Thorpe.
