Re: PBB, Bank Hol Mon

Great to see the park so busy, and looking so vibrant!

Looking forward to my visit this summer, as always.

(Still wish they'd give the Valhalla skull some finer details. :P)

Re: Efteling: Aquaruna 2012, Hartenhof 2015.

But Disney Dreams is much more than just a fountain show. It's also a last minute hash-together and a demonstration of really clumsy projection mapping...? Disney Dreams is the culmination of many years of technological advances by Disney in the field of nighttime spectaculars. It's hardly last-min...

Towers' Pricing

You don't honestly think they were going to waive the money raised through booking fees completely now did you? Any proposed VAT cuts would go back on the admission price in time as well no doubt. They claim to be second only to Disney, but they most certainly couldn't be any further from Disney's p...

Re: Lightwater Valley visit - yes or no?

Eagle's Claw has a seat which can accomodate guests with larger chest measurements, though by how much I'm not so sure.

Re: Lightwater Valley: 2013 developments

Nathan, when do you expect them to submit these plans for planning permission, and when do you expect the planning to be granted or denied and work to begin? :) I'd expect them to be submitted late August at the latest. As for how long it will take for the council to make a decision, I have no idea...

Re: Lightwater Valley: 2013 developments

I might be wrong here, but wasn't there a golf course in there about 10 years ago? There was, but it closed not long after The Ultimate opened IIRC. Here's a few photos of it before The Ultimate was built. http://sports.webshots.com/photo/1039508645034271123bsIrZi http://sports.webshots.com/photo/1...

^Yes, as well as wrapping round the railway embankment and up to The Ultimate (former Soopa Loopa site).

You can view the proposed site layout at the link below. :)

Re: Lightwater Valley: 2013 developments

From Valley Mania. Lightwater Valley have today revealed their master plan for an on-site resort complex. The draft master plan illustrates that the proposed Lightwater Resorts will be home to 106 holiday lodges, as well as other developments including outdoor activity areas. In September 1997, a pl...

Re: Lightwater Valley: 2013 developments

For what it's worth, work on the tractor ride has recommenced. As Slappy picked up on, the project was postponed simply because the park didn't quite acquire the funds necessary to complete the job to the standard that they are aspiring to. The tractor ride could have opened this season, but it woul...

Never going to happen.

They don't have the power to run something like The Bullet.

Lightwater Valley 26th May

Just to let you know, I'll be heading to Lightwater Valley on Saturday 26th May with Valley Mania. Anyone is welcome to join us.

Entrance is only £13.00 under the enthusiast admission rate.

Would be great to meet a few new faces!  :)

No new attraction + huge entrance price increase during recession = no people in park.

It's so simple.

The wettest April in 100 years certainly hasn't helped.

Flamingo Land and Lightwater Valley are also struggling to hit targets. I imagine it is the same for most parks.

Re: Valhalla Frontage Refurbishment

I for one, prefer the old frontage as it looks more like rocks, and the new frontage looks too light. I also preferred the way that you exit into the shop, instead of going over a bridge into the outdoors, as you could see everyone on the ride from there. As do I.  :( The skull looks nowhere n...

Re: Lightwater Valley: 2012 discussion

Also, I love this bit of the article from VM: At the time of writing, we are unable to disclose the name of The Wave's new owner Their little way of saying "we know, and you dont"... Or perhaps that the buyer has not expressed their permission for us to disclose their name publicly...

That's what I thought.

Still, looking forward to seeing what changes have been made internally. Hopefully this is just the first of many!

Re: Flamingo Land 2012

I think this email they sent out last night speaks volumes of the park's lack of professionalism. If you have the flamingoland app on your phone you can get you and a friend in half price this wednesday. All you do is show ur app on your phone at the pay desk No images. No styling. Plain old text. T...
