Re: Strange Coasters

Thought this was an interesting little coaster. A very tight layout with a couple of intense looking parts. Can't find it on RCDB.

I love how far along this has come from NL1. The amount of new features is immense. :D

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

I don't know whether it's paint or just dirty but I love the look of rawness that track has. If they do end up going for a dilapidated theme for the station, that texture for the track would compliment it. I don't want them going for that theme in the first place, I don't think it fits with X-Sector...

For all you rat lovers here

Don't know if this counts as cute since it's wild vermin, but just caught this little thief this morning in next door's garden.

I thought it looked cute  :P

Re: Mirabilandia 2012: "Divertical" Intamin Water Ride

Looks a little faster than I was expecting. What's the purpose of the outside rails after the first splashdown? Support?

Not sure about this yet, hopefully it's just early testing as there seems to be a couple of chunks with no water. It's also spraying the station quite a lot.  :|

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

I'd be surprised if they attempt to re-use that hut. It may be a lovely piece of X-Sector theming but it looks to me way beyond a lick of paint. It would more or less take a complete rebuild to get it to a condition worthy of selling food . I'll bet there's a lot of rotting wood in there much like t...

Re: PortAventura 2012: "Shambhala" B&M Mega Coaster

I don't mind cattle pen queue too much so long as A) you can kinda see the path it will take and B) you can see the end of the queue line so you know how far you have to go. One of the worst queues for me was Space Invader 2. Not a cattle pen but it was completely enclosed and you had no idea how lo...

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (ATTRACTION CLOSED 20-25 MAY)

Possibly my last visit of the year tomorrow and I thought I was safe! Still, longer working on the ride can only be for the greater good I suppose.

Re: 2012: Neglect, decay - demise?

I get the feeling that restoration is on the bottom of the priority list. It seems many people think this way. Because there are still obvious glares like Oblivion going yellow and all the rest, people are perhaps unnecessarily jump to the conclusion that nobody cares or that Alton Towers is run on...

Re: 2012: Neglect, decay - demise?

I'm happy with the work and odd little improvements they do make from time to time but the rate of decay is higher than the rate of refurbishment. If they keep up this pace, the park will deteriorate exponentially. I get the feeling that restoration is on the bottom of the priority list. It's like t...

Re: New Cable-Car for London: "Emirates Air Line"

Runs a lot faster than I imagined. Could they run it fast at peak times, then slow during quieter hours? It could be a transportation method in the morning and evening, then an attraction during the day.

They will also look into new fencing to stop those who happen to be in the wrong frame of mind (for whatever reason)  actually getting into the tunnel, Even if they do try. Things like higher fences, barbed wire, lubrication on the gates etc. The list goes on. I always think it's a shame when ...

Re: Roper update

Surely the hassle of moving house is much less than the hassle of going through another court case. The means just don't seem to justify the end, they're doing this over a matter of principal.

Re: New Cable-Car for London: "Emirates Air Line"

I don't know why, but I really expected them to use bigger gondolas. I wonder what the throughput will be like - Towers regularly get (admittedly short) queues for the Skyride, and this will no doubt be far more popular... So did I, they do look a bit underwhelming. I hope they're a little more fan...

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (May Contain Spoilers)

I think what we have now is more or less the final product bar a few timing issues. The bottom chamber has clearly not been designed with animatronics etc in mind, so I don't think we're going to see new effects retrofitted just to improve the experience slightly. They only have room to tweak the ex...
