Re: Ultimate Fireworks 2011

No way was it £2 million. Perhaps taking marketing material and all the other factors into account... but even then that would be massively over the top. Not even London's world class NYE display costs £2 million.

Re: Tory cuts

Why Socialism Doesn't Work Socialism Made Simple An economics professor at Texas Tech said he had never failed a single student before but had, once, failed an entire class. That class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The ...

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm

Is anyone able to give me a brief update on developments as I can't seem to find anything other than hearsay in the last 5 pages of this topic. Whats actually been confirmed? Are there plans in the public domain bar the MTDP?

Many thanks.

Re: Tory cuts

No, the parties people choose to vote for leads to coalition governments. No, that is not necessarily the case. In the UK we use FPTP which is a system that relies on the use of constituencies. Therefore it is geographically bias towards areas of concentrated party support. Therefore essentially a ...

Re: Tory cuts

Thats natural for a government that is in power during a time of economic hardship.

On the subject of politics - Ed Miliband; what a shocking leader. Labor wont be able to win an egg and spoon race, never mind a general election with that guy in charge.

Im not an avid collector but I do proudly own some original photos taken by B&M on the opening day of Oblivion and Nemesis with the dates on the back. I also have a B&M and Arrow catalogue, the ones they send out to clients.

We had some great data out of the UK today with manufacturing expanding the strongest rate since records began. Link Also for those talking down the impact the weather had on the GDP data last week; I have to deal with economic data on a daily basis at work and the impact of the weather on the data ...

Re: Tory cuts

Hi there guys, not been on TTF for a very long time now as I have had a lot going on in my life. Although I don't really have the time to write an in-depth response to this topic I do wish to make a few small comments. These will probably flame the fire but at the end of the day... meh. The argument...

Re: Th13teen - Ride discussion [SPOILERS TOPIC]

So complex and clever; the backwards launch is powered by the recouperated energy created by stopping the hydrolics with magnetic brakes! Where did you get that from :?. Wardley told our tour that the main drop was just caused by opening up the hydraulics and simply dumping all the fluid into a res...

Re: Show Us Your Motor

Yes it actually looks the new mini look huge when of course it isn't by today's standards. Your family a bit of Mini fans I take it then? Not particularly, although me and my sister both drive MINIs. Reason for the old mini is that my dad is a bit of a classic car collector/dealer. It was an impuls...

Its hard to believe that the Mini on the right was produced in 2001, one of the last on the final production run. It's such a dinky little thing.

Also they are just held in by bunjees

As has been said the whole idea of test dummies is to replicate humans. Rides do not eject humans. They have no cords or connections to hold them in, simply water for mass and thats it.

Re: Th13teen - Ride discussion [SPOILERS TOPIC]

Also a new rumour about the weight issue for the drop is to do with the type of hydrolic fluid in the drop rams, if this is the case it will be closed season before they fix it as it takes ages to flush out the fluid and replace it with a different type i would imagine. Without sounding rude, is th...
