It's wort noting by the way, that Universal's HHN is a seperately ticketed event... not only does the park close much earlier for day guests than usual, but none of the mazes or shows are included in the usual ticket price.

The idea that, as vaguely presented by a few posters above, that Alton gets vandalised and that's the way it is, and we should just have to deal with it, and they probably shouldn't bother paying attention to the issues, winds me up immensely.

I think Thorpe's Halloween 'atmosphere', particularly as it gets busier, is pretty unpleasant, and not in the good, thematic way.

That's being extremely picky by saying Florida has it's flaws when the ones it has are very small. Might I add, no park is perfect. I have not been to Europa, but I'm doubt it can live up to somewhere like IOA and don't expect it to. Dan :D Well, it's not, because whilst I love Florida and it's par...

I can't believe so many of you have said, "Oh no, cartoons!!!"

You're still going to get scary stuff, but Alton have so gone in the right direction by making the event appeal to everyone and adding these mascots, it's very smart and proffessional.

[quote="AstroDan"]I am glad you overall enjoyed your visit. However, if somewhere like Europa Park doesn't live up to expectation, then it's a shame. The park in my eyes is one of the best worldwide. I would be prepared to accept that Florida is probably better [quote] No, it's not entirel...

I have no issue with Corkscrew being rough, but it commits the sin of being both rough and boring.

Well, that zipped from cliched to stupid pretty quickly.

Yeah, there's too much comparison to the major Floridian parks. Don't less these concern you. Because the truth is, Alton aren't even striving to that level. Smaller parks, and even larger ones comparable - Phantasia, PA and Europa - are flying ahead because of personal and operational touches that ...

Could be good, or could spoil a rich, gorgeous area. I'd rather just see a Potter ride.

Well, you're missing out if you don't give it another try! But you have your principles.

Also, Universal don't own it anymore.

Wow, this is the peak of the Alton 'magic' debate.

Alton has lost it's magic because of issues in general society, who don't model themselves on forever enthusiastic fanfolk. I suppose Pleasureland closed down thanks to happy slapping or the German economic slump?

America has little to do with it. The vast majority of parks in America don't invest in dark or notably themed rides at all. This doesn't make them bad parks, but you're probably focusing more in Orlando parks. Valhalla has little character - it's ocassionally themed well, but most of it takes place...

'They', 'them', 'that'. This is England - and we have many different cultures. Wow, fantastic observation, Alton Towers is an English theme park! And therefore, welcomes many multi-cultural guests as normal. I don't like the idea of the day, but stop talking crap. So your telling me if we went to a...
