Re: Nemesis Inferno: Effects you would like to add to the ride.

Before adding anything to the ride I'd like to see the current attraction brought up to scratch. All of the things I'm about to suggest are realistic and can be achieved by the park. New entrance sign- needs either repainting or a completely new one added. Queueline fencing needs a spruce-up and the...

Re: Off Peak Closure of SkyRide and Other Cuts

I really feel for the parks. At first it felt as though the changes that were being made had a minimal affect on the guest experience. Now I think it's gone too far and has just crossed the line to what is acceptable, at least from me as a guest. The truth is, the people at the parks are trying the...

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (May Contain Spoilers)

It looks as though the ride will have permanent actors once it reopens at the end of May; an email from Alton Towers: We are looking for actors/performers who can portray strong and intimidating behaviours, prepared to terrify and scare our guests all day every day in our new attraction for 2012, Ne...

Re: Chessington World Of Adventures: General Discussion

If the park wasn't open, then they wouldn't make any money at all. A park like Chessie/ Lego require less people to break even than a park like Alton/ Thorpe as there are less staff. Think of all those coasters/ water rides that require lots of staffing positions. Then think of Chessie/ Lego where t...

Re: Chessington World Of Adventures: General Discussion

Just to clarify, the reason why Wild Asia and Mystic East are closed until 11:30 is because quite honestly, no guests get there until that time anyway. On days like this, it's the small rides like Trucks, Sea Dragons and Jungle Bouncers that get the most riders as it's mostly very small children, to...

I think I prefer it slightly pink. Feels more "alien".

Re: Quick Questions 2012

A question regarding merchandise- can anyone tell me if the thirteen necklaces are still on sale please?  I visited in 2010 and they weren't available at the time and I really wanted one! Thank you if anyone can tell me! :D

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

I'm much happier for Alton Towers to have gone with Gerstlauer, the actual coaster is probably costing just half the budget, so about £10m, leaving one hell of a lot of money for theming and experience. The Swarm may have been a £20m coaster too, but I bet at least £15m went to B&M. So if Merli...

Re: Park Opening Hours 2012

I'm desperately disappointed that they finally went with this option after hearing it rumoured a couple of months back. You have to wonder how much of of a detrimental affect this will have on guest satisfaction. However, having said that, if I had to make a choice, I'd choose to have operating budg...

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm

I havnt seen anyone say "this will definately be crap" people have "shock-horror" discussed the rides POV on a discussion forum. I understand any frustration when people make assumptions based on plans but once we get a POV you can legitimately get valid discussion. As i and eve...

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm

I believe that video is at least a week old. Any props and set dressing won't be added until last. So over the next 10 days they'll be added to the site. I imagine we'll see a few plane seats scattered around at the very least!

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm

I think the general feeling is that it is a very well paced ride. It feels as though it crams a lot into the short amount of ride time. :P

That turn into the inline-twist... wow! That looks to be incredible! :D

Not long until we can experience it in person! :D

Hey guys. I realise I'm not such an active member on these forums as such but I would absolutely love to come and say hi! I realise a lot of forums will be there on the 17th and I'm already meant to be part of two forum meets/ mini meets. It's crazy but also awesome that so many people with shared p...

Re: 2011 / 2012 Closed Season - Resort Updates and Improvements

I'm intrigued to know- when people say "improved lighting", do they mean some different coloured gels over the existing lanterns or do they mean the actual lighting design has been changed completely? Both still create changes in atmosphere but clearly one requires more work and design tho...

Re: 2011 / 2012 Closed Season - Resort Updates and Improvements

It's a shame to hear that the Vault in Hex is still in such a poor condition.  I can only hope that it is sorted before main season. It is my joint favourite attraction at the resort so it is heartbreaking to hear negative things from an otherwise stellar attraction.

Re: 2012: Nemesis Sub-Terra... Part 2

Although nothing is confirmed officially, we know that it is exactly the same ride hardware as the Extremis rides at the Dungeons attractions. All of those rides (correct me if I'm wrong) use a single lap bar for the entire row that comes down over your head. Much like the Frog Hopper attractions, a...

Re: 2012: Nemesis Sub-Terra... Part 2

This is reminding me of how everyone was over-analysing Thirteen's promotional material and then how lengthy discussions were invested into potential projection effects inside the crypt. Speculation is good, in fact, it's great, I just prefer to remain realistic as to what we're going to expect from...

Re: 2012: Nemesis Sub-Terra... Part 2

Perhaps it's just me, but I actually consider this one of the least hyped attractions Merlin have ever installed. All of the marketing seems to just be enhancing the story of the ride rather than blatantly boasting about how amazing the ride experience is.
