Re: The Ultimate Fireworks: 5-7 November 2010

Because it's within the car parks and park itself that the problems lie not the surrounding areas. The village and other roads seem to cope 'OK' under the strain of thousands of cars. By local fields I do mean within 10minutes away, not on the ones right next to the car parks or at the front of the ...

Re: The Ultimate Fireworks: 5-7 November 2010

Event parking charges are pretty much standard anywhere though now days or park and ride charges to displays. Be it your local display or big displays, either that or everyone crams for the streets and considering theirs none around Alton Towers, you have to pay. I feel that £5 warrants the display ...

Re: The Ultimate Fireworks: 5-7 November 2010

Lack of food was more than likely due to excessive demand. From talking to one of the car park attendants they said it was the busiest day of the season, and this year has by far been busier than previous years. I was only their for 3hours but every time I walked past Pizza and Pasta their was a que...

Re: The Ultimate Fireworks: 5-7 November 2010

I personally loved the firework, they had an amazing atmosphere and lovely buzz about the park come nighttime. The pre warm up 20minutes really got everyone in the mood around us and everyone started singing along, the jugglers and stilt walker where good too of the ones I did see. Overall I would s...

Re: Scarefest: 16-31 October 2010

Music’s played around the front of the towers anyway within the TOTT que isn't it? And surely from hitting bottom of Towers St that normally play's Halloween music rather loud, then walking through Mutiny Bay that has its music, there’s only a relatively small path after that, that will have little ...

Re: Scarefest: 16-31 October 2010

The parks looking great, best I've seen for any event for considerable years! Everything looks so fresh and new, even if the themeing is what has been used in the past years, however how they have used it has maximised its appearance. This is generally the first time I've been excited about an event...

Re: Oblivion drop

Its variable the length it holds you. Sometimes its 2seconds and sometimes its 3seconds. I'm lead to belive its always been like this? Somedays its seems it only holds you for a second before you drop. As for the break down on the top, ive known people to say its happened, even people on here have s...

Re: Spinball Whizzer touch up

Oblivion re-paint before Spinball please. I can't see a re-paint of Spinball untill its rethemed or infact removed. All Towers coasters look like they could do with a paint, Air, Oblivion, Nemesis (although it kind of adds to its theme). Spinballs location and loose theme make it either close to rem...

Re: 2009 Promotionals and Visuals

I don't really like any of them. They look so dull and rather drab, I'd rather them be promoting with something that looks sleek and more modern! The Nemesis one looks like something from the past, already IMO looks so dated.

Re: Alton Towers Old Website

I miss the flash website they used to have with the virtual map and the doors. Anyone remeber those? Yes! With 4 doors was it, one for the hotel, one for the park and the other two i can't quite remember, maybe their was two for each hotel? Can remember it had something with the park logo and air i...

Re: Alton Towers Old Website

I'm sure when the park is open though, they use the 'Latest News:' bar along the top to display closed rides?

The sites alright at the moment, at least it all ties in with their marketing with the golden pips etc. However i much preferred the 2005 site.

Re: When you were 1.4m tall

As long as i can remember i was tall enough since i started going back in 1997 (yes i was rather tall for my age) but it was the following year i decided to go on Oblivion, Nemesis always scared me just watching it and so never braved it, so yes Oblivion! :D

Re: Park lighting - Mutiny Bay to Katanga Canyon

I wouldn't say its all H&S rubbish that the flood lights are down too, it's clear they don't have to have them, like the Haunted Hollow, no flood lights that i can remember apart from the first bit in Gloomy Wood. It's most probably more down to them being 'over' safe - which i guess isn't all t...

Re: Where Do You Eat At Alton?

You don't get discount on any outlets like Pizza Hut, KFC, Burger King or Easter Express - however i think you can get staff discount? I know you can definitely at Eastern Express just not sure about the other. :?

Eastern Express, chicken tikka wraps with mint & mayo, yummy. Plus are reasonably priced and are just great when you want something quick and pretty filling.

After seeing most of the trains on Monday they are so much better than in the pictures. :) They all look so fresh and clean, was great not seeing even one 'peasant' train on the track. My favourite has to be the Celebration train, looks funky and bright, followed by the Strawberry train. Also was sp...
