Re: BPB - losing appeal?

I've been to pleasure beach twice, last year and last month. I think they do have some quirky rides and Valhalla is amazing but it has to be said, the pleasure beach itself is just truly unpleasant to walk around and in my opinion is a complete and utter dump, nothing pleasing at all really. Aesthet...

Re: Thorpe Park 2013 General Discussion

2 schools of thought...

1.get there early and head to swarm, don't worry about going backwards, go forwards first. If you're on one of the first trains, the rest of the park will be walk on.

2. Do everything else first and head to swarm at mid day

I think the potential is there for new animals, I'd be shocked if they didn't add more

Re: Chessington 2013, Zufari discussion

I was lucky enough to be on the first public ride today. Worth noting first of all that it was only open for 3 hours due to animals getting cold. The entrance to the ride is pretty standard as per the current theme of the area...think bamboo etc. The queue line is a typical merlin cattle pen made fr...

Typical Thorpe, had 5 months to prepare for this and they are running late. I just really hope they have not made the ride any worse than it already was. I really liked the backwards thing.

As opposed to typical Alton who can't open a new ride on time?

The police do stop people in the street smoking it and it quite often generates little work

Re: Will theme parks go the way of seaside funparks?

I think the recession makes it even less likely that regional parks will catch up with major theme parks. I think people will still want to ride the big major coasters and regional parks just won't have the money to invest anywhere near what Merlin can. Besides, the major parks in this country are s...

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm

It's age discrimination, if I had the money I'd raise a law suit

Same sex couples might not have children as they may not be able to adopt, are they being homophobic too (ok might be taking the point too far) but you can see where I'm going with this....

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (May Contain Spoilers)

but lets face it, Alton is a family resort now, if you want proper white knuckle rides go to Thorpe Park.  Will be interested to hear reviews tomorrow from people who have been on it, preferably from non-fanboys who think Alton can do no wrong! Thorpe Parks last 3 non coaster additions.... a t...
