Re: What is Magic HQ

I'm sure that for a short time around the dark years it was renamed to 'Alton Towers Learning Center' or something. There's still 2005 stripped branding all over the place.

It's open 24 hours and it's heating bill must be incredible as it's always boiling in there...

Re: Park Life

Awesome, thanks Dave!

Fantastic show. I think I prefer it to Magic Factory, it seemed to give better insight into the different, casual ways the park played in people lives - from guests, to ride staff, to ents staff.

I forgot about the camp kid on a hetero date. Hilarity.

Park Life

Does anyone know of the existence of the Park Life documentary anywhere on the internets?

Re: Alton Towers Recruitment 2012 Season

Hi there.

I was wondering if anyone knows the general time it takes for Alton Towers to get back to you after a preliminary interview.

Re: Royal Wedding: Do you care?

Thankfully, I missed the entire charade in bed with a hangover (a much preferred afternoon I must say) but as a staunch anti-monarchist I find the whole thing completely archaic and not reflective of the progressive, modern society we live in now. You can cite your empirical 'but it earned so much' ...

Re: Student Fees Demonstration

Well I think that eye for an eye attitude regarding the police is very dangerous. Slippery slope. And let's say an individual wants to, I don't know.. move to London to pursue a career in Journalism. How does that person go about such a thing without going to University? It's not 'learning' - it is ...

Re: Student Fees Demonstration

It's disappointing to see the lack of respect toward students - here and in the country generally. Stop being bitter. Yes, many people, myself included, regard education highly and want to be as well read as possible before entering the world of work. Yes, degrees are an asset to an individual and a...

Re: Student Fees Demonstration

The right-wing spin the media have put on these protests is really a testament to the monopoly right-wing media have on this country. Police brutality is really overwhelmingly being overlooked here. At the end of the day, many protesters behaved irresponsibly, yes. Many more were legitimately protes...

Re: Tory cuts

This country has such deluded misconceptions on the welfare state. The 'benefit scrounger' has become the quintessential blame of public expenditure and it's just far off the mark. The rich and their tax-loopholes. THAT is the more pressing issue, 10 fold. Also, people are so quick to judge and gene...

Re: The 'Duel in the Crown' Project

It's a nice idea but as said, I can't see how unloading a bunch of crap from charity shops and grocery stores is going to help a parks theme. I think every good theme park works on the basis of quality not quantity. Obviously both gets you Disney and Universal but, frankly, quantity alone gets you t...

Re: Black Hole 3

Something like Mumbo Jumbo would be great, beefed up a bit. All those unconventional elements would feel absolutely amazing in a dark ride environment. Add some proper effects or even a special element and you have a sneeky little SW that would pack more of a punch than what plans or even costs woul...

Re: Th13teen - Marketing/Promotional Discussion

Just watching this Q&A with Morweena. I like her and think she knows what she's doing. At the end of the day, yes Th13teens's marketing is a lie but she's playing dirty and being manipulative, which marketing so often is. There's no way Th13teen would be as successfully marketable as a 'family c...

Re: Th13teen - Ride discussion [SPOILERS TOPIC]

After going on th13teen on sunday and 4 times today I have simply come to one conclusion. th13teen is absolutely, positively brilliant. When I went, I went on with the mind set that the ride was going to be a family coaster, so I was expecting boredline thrill, but not on par with nemesis and co se...
