Re: Galactica - General Discussion

Here's our new Galactica POV. Well, it's a hell of a lot more than just that.

Big thank you to ATR, specifically Lizzie from Marketing and Joe from Tech Services in making it happen.

Re: Dubai Parks & Resorts

Thanks for the update. Certainly a reason to go back - the parks should feel a lot more complete.

Re: Scarefest - General Discussion

Alton Towers have unveiled the lineup for this year's Scarefest event. New for 2020, the Resort shall debut 'Freak Show: Toxic Junkyard', which will be an outdoor scare maze that invites the foolhardy to venture into the Freak Show hidden den to discover the secret of the psycho clowns’ next big sho...

Re: Intamin General Discussion

Interesting. Despite the obvious imitations, we can certainly say that Intamin are good at keeping up with competitors, and appear to have the most diverse portfolio of ride types out there. This is a huge advantage in building relationships with parks, and being able to offer package deals to opera...

I know right; the atmosphere in The Welcoming was great; and the theming was amazing. Let's hope whatever they produce next will be just as unique.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Music and Videos

It's such a great soundtrack - shame the Welcoming's life was so short as it was a fantastic maze too. Here's a multi-instrumental cover of The Welcoming soundtrack, which contains an interesting addition at the start. Scary how well the two themes blend together, despite being from different compos...

Re: Nemesis Inferno

I'm sure it comes down to cost. The Tussauds Group originally had a contract with Bose and installed their equipment in to all new attractions that opened up, from Air to Colossus.. This contract clearly ended, and with the park's dwindling capex and maintenance budgets, I am guessing Thorpe chose t...

It's a shame that water dummies couldn't be used to sit in the empty rows! Could even dress them as monks or something :)

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

There were 4000 guests on park on Saturday, which may seem a lot, but the park areas were quiet.

Ride queues were still sizeable due to the understandably longer processes in place, and reduced availability on each coaster train.

It was only The Smiler and Wicker Man that was over an hour I believe.

Walt Disney World in Orlando have announced the phased opening of the theme parks from July 11th.

I wonder why they need so much more time than Universal and SeaWorld which are opening in early June?
