Re: Alton Towers Ultimate Firework Spectacular

So for those of you who attended, what did we think of the fireworks this year?

Better? Same as last year?

Re: Alton Towers Ultimate Firework Spectacular

Ever wanted to know how the Fireworks are operated? This year has seen over 250 people involved in the creation of the show. The Operations Cabin co-ordinates the display each night, with each separate element of the show having its own dedicated set of controls, including pyrotechnics, sound and li...

Re: Dubai Parks & Resorts

Clearly the Freespin was supposed to be themed as the Joker!

I'm most interested to see what they do with the Mack coaster, as it was a pretty custom layout to fit the space.

Re: Merlin General Discussion - New Owners agreed in £4.8bn deal

I just hope they prioritise quality over quantity though. There is only so much copy and paste of Madame Tussauds in every city in the world they can do.

Let's face it.. I bet very few people buy an Annual Pass to repeat visit a midway attraction alone.

Re: Rameses Revenge

My fondest memory of Rameses Revenge was during its first few years during Fright Nights (as I recall the event being called then, before the family transition). It was so popular, the line reached 2-3 hours, which filled the elevated queue line, and went in to the long extension in the large plante...

Those were the days!

Originally Boiler House was located in ATH in the Emperors Suite - and the exit came straight out in to the Dragon Bar - hilarious!

For me this park is easier to get to than some in the UK :)

Really excited to have one of these closer by.

Here's our new POV of The Gruffalo River Ride Adventure.

It's certainly a must ride for me each time I visit Chessington. Is it for you?

Re: Rameses Revenge

So what do we think of Rameses Revenge finally leaving the park?

My preference was that they replaced it with a floorless model from Huss. Shame it was not to be.

Here's some footage we uploaded today that hopefully will bring back some fond memories in years to come.

Re: Forbidden Kingdom Drop Tower - New for 2021

Whilst I am pleased to see investment in the park, the amount of thrill rides for older kids really is diminishing. The Zamperla model mentioned above does look fun, but I would prefer for the ride to be an actual mini shot and drop tower, rather than a glorified frog hopper! Fingers crossed for a F...

Re: Vampire

The old trains used to be higher capacity, along with bags not being an issue, no faff with seat belts or larger guests as the restraints were more accommodating. Trains were easily dispatched within 40 seconds. The new trains, on top of what always seems to be a large disabled queue utilising the b...

As Jack mentioned, we'd love to see everyone attending the event wear a Hawaiian shirt or something suitably festive!

Let's see if we can feature more members in a photo than last year! :)

Hmm, the square footage of the ride looks much bigger than Sierra Sidewinder - but time will tell! Here's some new construction photos of the area: https://scontent-lht6-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/64692314_10156684560248495_2808761586263523328_n.jpg?_nc_cat=104&_nc_ht=scontent-lht6-1.xx&oh=117e...

More information on the expansion here: https://blooloop.com/news/dxb-financial-results-strategy-six-flags-motiongate-bollywood/ Motiongate installing thrill rides sounds interesting. Glad they have realised that truly groundbreaking attractions are needed to attract a higher proportion of internati...

Re: Wicker Man - General Discussion

Yes, completely in agreement with that. For me, I rode Mystic Timbers which really does make the most of the ride system, and frankly squashes Wicker Man. We have a fun, solid, reliable, 'fun' attraction, but there are better examples out there, and not just because they are taller. Much rather have...
