What do you see or imagine the future of the gardens? Reglaze the roof of the Grand Conservatory for either a Aunt Betty's Tea Room / Harry Ramsden's Chippy. or conference / meeting room. Add lighting. Fairy lights in the trees. could be use the give the impression of fairies dance on the water and ...

Re: Gloomy Wood Future

What about revamping (no pun intended) Duel around The Munsters, or even theme it around mythos of HP Lovecraft? ⋅  Cthulhu ⋅  Rats in the Walls ⋅  Necronomicon Construct a Chained Oak. Imagine on of these in the corner of Gloomy Hollow, not far out the gates and to the...

Re: New Infrastructure Layout => New Huge Area for Hotel / Entertainment Complex

Use the monorail track as a base for pod system. Have some longer pods (or conveys) doing the mass people moving between car-park and entrance only. Where you can use the traditional pay stalls at the entrance. Ramps take the track down to ground level route to a use a simple ground embedded guidanc...

Re: Your World First Ideas

Take the Charlie and The Chocolate Factory Glass Elevator but combined with views of a live 360 view from a video camera system on a model. Leads to a interest concept of "The Fly" The camera carriage system has the potential to be a lot smaller (cos it doesn't any carry humans.) Some mobi...

New Infrastructure Layout => New Huge Area for Hotel / Entertainment Complex

My idea based off a Blizzards idea of Topic of a Towers Views Hotel The potential is there if Alton Tower thought radically and long term about changing the locations of the existing infrastructure. As doing so could open up large and new areas of the park for redevelopment and attractions. Infrastr...

Re: Nemesis Backwards!

It makes a difference which way you're facing. Why do air-stewards seats face towards the rear of the plane? and passengers forward towards to nose? Because is safer and more survivable that way. In accident ( in the direction of travel ) they are pressed against and into the seat back, rather throw...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Minor??  That little kink (from the track being in put backwards), could induce a fatal jarring whiplash at speed. See how smooth the curves have to be overall, then suddenly you hit that. @RobJackson85 It was bolted in remained like that for a couple of days (photos exist), I reckon th...

To me it looks like they "forgot" to put the concrete collar around the footer, see adjacent footers.

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

As a construction worker myself, things are not always gonna fit first time or maybe have to be altered, it just one of those things. On such a big project as this, if a datum is slightly out it means footers or concrete slabs may be out We're talking about a KEYED section (like a kettle plug socke...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

How can they the put a piece of track in the wrong way, the track appears to keyed. See the end of the running tube have indentations at there centres, the other end has noggins. That allow the track to more are less self align. I'll have a look through the construction images for an example. Edit: ...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

This is going make me sound dense, but can any work out where the garage sheds are going to be. Two possible locations for the transfer track. First is on the straight before the first lift. Second just before returning to the station (most likely). As I can't see any supports (like what's hold up t...

Seem over engineered for a vertical lift.
Could it be a transfer track that raises and falls, like Big One at Blackpool http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kp3nct2xkZk

Just seen your comment TheBoyWithOneEye, been a little busy doing a course and some arty stuff. It "a shrine" to what I hold sacred. It's made from an old cigar box with painted black and gold paint. The scene and Corkscrew is made from cardboard The box base is old road map covering Derby...
