Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

The section with no footers before the lift hill matches the base they use on their launch coasters.  On their launched coasters below the launch section is just a concerete base with the tack ontop of a base frame which is placed ontop of the base, with no actual footers.  You can see thi...

Re: Europa-Park 2013: Family Dark Ride Rollercoaster

According to reports the ride system in the dark ride will be a family friendly powered flying coaster system that will use similar seats to bluefire. It will feature both darkride and coaster sections and will be as previously reported 650m in length. http://www.badische-zeitung.de/rust/eur ... imo...

Re: Drayton Manor Park 2011: Hotel, Thomas Land Ride & Coast

The reason for the higher price for the Christmas event is the park is massivly pushing 2 for 1 tickets for the event, the 2 for 1 offer is advertised across their website, on face book and also very clearly on their TV advert for the event. I would be better if they just sold tickets at say £15 how...

Re: Drayton Manor Park 2011: Hotel, Thomas Land Ride & Coast

Drayton often say they are still finalising plans until they are normally ready to announce new attractions. However i wouldnt expect anying to major after this years investment and 2013's major coaster project. There were rumours of some kind of new thrill flat ride on the old black revolver site a...

Re: 2012: Nemesis - What Lies Beneath... Part 2

I know this has been mentioned before but i have heard again recently that the CCL theatre will be getting knocked down shortly and replaced with a brand new 4D Cinema (not sure if they just mean the current theatre is getting gutted and re-fitted or the whole building is being replaced by a new one...

Re: 2012: Nemesis - What Lies Beneath... Part 2

If each tower only seats 6 you must not be on the tower for very long otherwise there would be some big throughput issues.

Re: Drayton Manor Park Future

I think the 2013 coaster will be a thrill coaster as previously rumoured, i am sure they are probably looking at a family coaster (with the woddie one option) for sometime after that maybe around 2015. I did hear they were thinking of removing pirates adventure which we would free up alot of space a...

Re: Lightwater Valley: 2011 Discussion

Drayton have followed the merlin route though and massively increased buy one get one free vouchers this year so I suspect while they have increased attendance the average amount paid to enter is less than last year.

Re: LegoLand Windsor: new ride in 2012, Rocket Racers site

I would expect some kind of coaster will come to the park as their next major addition, however i wouldnt expect that until 2014, with Alton and chessie likly getting the big projects at there UK parks in 2013, with 2014 likly being legolands next major addition.

The planning application was submitted before the greatest ride campaign finished and would have been in design well before the campaign even started.

Re: BG Williamsburg 2012: "Verbolten" multi-launch Zierer

I think this ride will turn out to be a great success and a solid and popular family coaster, it mixes what looks like a great indoor section with a launch coaster. Plus the marketing seems right clearly showing it's a fun family ride rather than how thirteen was marketed. Also I think the busch par...

Re: BG Williamsburg 2012: "Verbolten" multi-launch Zierer

Not sure how true this is but i did read that the park fell out with intamin some years ago and didnt want an Intamin Coaster, (must be the park management rather than the corporate office as the sister park in Tampa had an Intamin this year) plus they also went with moser for this years drop tower ...

Now that the hotel has openned has anyone heard about what is planned for 2012? are they still looking at haunting retheme or a new thrill ride on the site of the old black revolver? Re: 2012: New Attractions

Sourin cost alot more than $3.5m to build ,the film may have cost that much but including the ride system it was close to $100m including all the reaserch and R&D when they were devloping the attraction, the version at Disney world will have alot less but still around $30m+, yes there are now ch...

Re: Merlin's American expansion

Capacity has been increased to 1000 pph, i think there will be 16 cars (double the other versions, if i remember correctly) The park has been built very quickly with very small turn around from Merlin signing the deal for the park and opening day in a months time, therefore most attractions are just...
