I don't think we'll see any retheme of Mutiny Bay or see SW8 in its own area unfortunately. I think they will just stick it in Mutiny Bay as it is and ignore the fact they are two completely conflicting themes in the vein of Galactica/Forbidden Valley and Rita/Dark Forest to a lesser extent.
Now that we're reaching the back end of the season, and with the news about Cebeebies Land, what do we think is going to happen to Spinball? The sponsorship deal with Sega runs out at the end of this year and people have spoken about the ride being moved in the past, but surely we would have seen pl...
Runaway Minetrain was down all day today, and the train was stopped on the track in two halves near the tunnel. First half of the train: http://img838.imageshack.us/img838/3721/54v6.jpg Second half (sorry about the immense blur): http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/8537/dpel.jpg Not sure what has happe...
Went today for my first visit of 2013. After watching construction of the Smiler almost daily from the end of last year until it's opening, I was pretty upset heading to the park thinking that it would almost certainly be closed, on top of the expectation of huge queues with it being the first day o...
TowersStreet are reporting that Enterprise has been suffering some downtime over the past week or so. The ride has been in the park for nearly 30 years now and despite apparent refurbishment this closed season is it starting to show its age and reach its last legs? If Enterprise were to go would you...
A question for anyone who has ridden.. Is there any reference to the backstory of the ride in the queueline? TV screens playing videos about the ministry of joy or anything like that? Seems a shame if not because most will not really know what it is all about.
Guys, take a step back, nobody is hiding anything from 'The Chinese'... I think the idea is that Alton Towers wanted to keep the 14 inversions of The Smiler a secret from the public, in a similar manner to how Oblivions vertical drop was kept a secret of sorts. This is quite apparent through press r...
The orignal Nemesis shop in 1994 can be seen in this picture (Just under Thunder Looper's Loop) http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj133/codona333/d6bdbd19.jpg And in this picture in the background next to the Nemesis Nosh bus http://old.towerstimes.co.uk/history/oldrides/coasters/looper5.jpg Best p...
Obnoxious tweets are probably justified in this instance, the way the whole thing has been handled is a complete shambles and their latest stance of "the Twitter team don't know" is another cop-out. It's not the social media team's fault that whatever has happened has happened, but there ...
What I don't understand is why they didn't realise before now that they would need some kind of cover to protect people in the queue line from falling objects..? Rita has a tonne of netting over it's queue and that doesn't even go upside down.. I think its quite safe to assume that a combination of ...
I think its about time Alton Towers were a bit more honest here. Three days of updating the website with news that it will be closed the next day is pretty disrespectful really, I appreciate that they just want to get it open soon as and therefore are playing things by ear, but people have invested ...
Oh dear... "Some hopeful customers. They may have a long wait..." From TowersTimes Live i am so pleased im not there till weekend :P God WHAT???? HUH??? Your glad your going on the weekend????? The weekend will be one of the first days the ride opens, it's A BANK HOLIDAY weekend and its H...
Guys I think it's more than H&S with gersualter back on site with there arriving. Back on park I think it could be a little more....and I think it has something to do with that the support those bolts were not just bent but slice out of alignment I'm still amazed that they bodged it that much a...
I hope everyone on park has a good day today despite the bad news. A day of sitting at work repeatedly bringing up Towerstimes/Towersnerd live to see if anything happens lies ahead for me!
