Re: Flambo's exotic Feast

It does feel worth the money when you are getting three courses for £20 and it's unlimited. The carvery is always good and in loved the goat curry when we were there last year. We got annual pass discount so only £16 which is a better price. Soft drinks are refillable too.

Re: Alton Towers - Offers, Vouchers and Discounts

Which date bands would you recommend as being the least busy generally speaking? Avoid school holidays is the big rule. This year the Easter holidays fall in Band A. Witsun holidays falls in Band C. And the summer holidays fall in Bands F & G. This year i am going for Band B , which is in betwe...

Re: Third Hotel - Lodges

Looking at the plans it appears there are some quite big internal changes with the male changing rooms being expanded and the female changing rooms being removed/converted to a different room, I assume changing will then be unisex? The wooden sauna also looks like it will be removed/relocated as wel...

Re: Zufari 2014 Update

Hey there, I'm working at the park this year and I've seen a lot of comments of people complaining about the Pre-Show building. I can confirm that it's been changed into a continuous queue that connects to both ends so you hopefully won't get caught behind people who were in front of you. Also, Goz...

Re: Thorpe Park - General Discussion

Oblivion and Detonator are very different rides. But yes in the same wat the Fanta sponsorship did, adding Somic would ruin it! But Detonator is only a 1.3m height restriction so it's still able to be ridden by more of the family than the big coasters. But still the original Angry Birds games were n...

Re: Thorpe Park - General Discussion

The tea cups would have been perfect, whizzing around in little angry birds. If they had done that I would be saying "well done Thorpe, good move" (I think non traditional tea cups look brill, AT did an amazing job fitting in theirs to MB) But they chose Detonator? People will be like, &q...

Re: Thorpe Park - General Discussion

It will still be a thrill ride as the ride experience wont change, it will just be themed like a ride for children when it wont be a ride for children. Why do you think that adding some angry bit signage to Dentonator is going to make it a children's ride? It's still a drop tower, just instead of v...

Re: Welcome to the new forums!

Right I had enough of the forum now. I'm clicking on topics thats not been updated since the last time I checked. It really needs to list the date the last post was posted and not when the topic was started. Too you think this is important to add to the forums I won't be back. Good luck in the full...

Re: SW8

Could you imagine how much more awkward it would be to maintain a coaster that's spreads out across the valley, especially a wooden one! It looks very unlikely this will happen. However I would like to see a wing rider there at some point A wooden coaster across the valley would probably be easier ...

Re: General Discussion 2014

I think that alton towers need to introduce The Smiler to ERT as it would make a more pleasent queue line throughout the day. Also I think the park should open certain rides for longer, a different selection of rides each month or week, also the park may need to give Rita a touch up as all that sca...

Read TT? I just see a dark blue light bulb next to each post in a forum that goes to grey when read. The NEW in red next to each post in the old forum was much more obvious.

Re: Welcome to the new forums!

It doesn't seem as obvious as to which posts have new replies as the old forum did, maybe instead of the grey icon turning blue, it could be yellow to indicate new replies?

Re: General Thorpe Park Discussion

No that's bad wording, the rides brilliant, it's just that it could have been SO much better if an extra 200ft had been added to the hill. I meant it was a let down on Thorpe's part for not making it so much taller. Stealth is still my favourite ride. I don't think being double the height would mak...

Re: SW8

Also, I wonder why AT withdrew planning permission for a woodie? Lot's of reason why they didn't go ahead with a woodie. Noise and similar issues with planning permission, I think some people objected to trees being removed. Historically they have always said that perception of wooden coasters is t...

Re: Chessington 2014 £14 million investment

I don't get why the ride was closed for a year for this, especially when most of the work has been done in the closed season. They had to remove the old theming as it was rotten and dangerous, which is what left the ride SBNO all though the open season. I've no idea why it took them so long to star...

Re: General Discussion 2014

Yep, the less people using fast track the quicker the normal queue moves, so higher prices to keep it a limited premium product are a good thing.

Re: General Thorpe Park Discussion

I hope it isn't a dive machine, given we already have Oblivion at AT and Thorpe already has Stealth for the big drop category. There must be something they can do to come up with an original idea and doesn't rely so much on gimmicks of  inversions, height or speed. The wooden coaster from canad...

Re: Honest Merlin Opinions

As you said, nobody pays the £48 gate price, this is only set to ensure they get £20-24 from people using a 2for1. Also as you said the 2for1 vouchers give free advertising so there is no incentive for them to change business model when discounting works so well for them. Blackpool has opted to have...
