Re: News: Alton Towers to Give Lucky Guests £1000 Cash

I love this! What a great surprise for any guests visiting the park who don't even realise.

There must be a sponsorship deal behind it?

Re: The death of the (remaining) magic

Too many negative people on here.

Try not visiting for a season, get off this forums and try it again a year later. That's what I did and felt like I was 12 again on my last visit.

Jus' sayin' ya'll.

Re: Fantastic Staff

Was just looking for a topic like this! The staff this year are brilliant. Every member of staff I came into contact with seemed like they were having a great time, helpful, asked how my day was, had a good conversation. I work a restaurant where we are encouraged to have conversations with our cust...

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (May Contain Spoilers)

Well, I visited the park yesterday for the first time since 2010 and was very impressed with the ride overall. The ride had broken down earlier in the day and I wasn't sure weather it was up and running again, but after a member of staff struck up conversation about the ride in Woodcutters, I asked ...

Re: Park Opening Hours 2012

I've worked at Pizza Hut for 3 years. They're a terrible place to work for. The quality of food IS terrible, all bought in at the lowest costs to make the most money. Staff hours are constantly being cut meaning customers get a lower quality of service, however, we were constantly being pushed to gi...

Re: Park Opening Hours 2012

I've just sent an email to Alton Towers with my views.

It's sad to see Alton Towers moving backwards, when you would think that it was growing with the times and competition. Clearly money is more important than experience.

Alton Towers - Is the infrastructure good enough?

This topic has been on my mind a while whilst browsing this forums recently and to be honest, this is my biggest concern for the Resort and the future of the place unless something is done. The thing that triggered this off was a post by Astrodan a few months ago who talked about it in a topic (I ca...

Re: Submission & Enterprise: Closed (SBNO) for 2012

Budget cuts? I find that impossible to believe. Why cut the operating of 2 rides in the same area for an entire season?!

Surely if there WERE budget cuts, they would implement a similar system that got thrown about a few years ago of limiting the operation of certain rides on quieter days.

Re: 2012: Nemesis Sub-Terra... Part 2

All the press is cheesy. Find me an advert that isn't. Even the magical 1995 has its touches of cheese.

The wanders of advertising. They need to sell it.

Re: 2012 ticket price is £42

Has anyone got that price comparison I saw a while back?

Something like time in a theme park 7 hours costing £40, time at a football match 90 mins, £70. Or something along those lines?

Re: 2012: Nemesis Sub-Terra... Part 2

Has anyone even considered that Alton have lowered themselves further than Thorpe by living off the nemesis name?? Does it not seem to people (as it does me) that the Alton is now lacking originality? A new addition is always good, but I for one am not expecting major things. That is like saying Al...

Re: High Court challenge over noise - guess who's back...

So I did a little research. According to the Sentinel article, The Ropers live in 'Farley House'. In Farley, there is a self-catering cottage (the owners rent it out I think) called Farley Cottage. When you search for both on Google Maps, Google claims they are the same place: http://maps.google.co...

Re: 2012: Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs – The 4-D Experience

Barney, Peter Rabbit, Tweenies, Bob The Builder and Go Go Go - All shows from outside of the park. Clearly shows such as Webmaster, ATTV and Sir Algenon have been tried and tested and haven't pulled in the audiences. Yes, they may have been good concepts, but if the audiences don't go and see the sh...
