Hi, Evening Standards just published a post on Derren Brown's Ghost Train about an hour ago stating that it officially opens tomorrow, 8th July. IS THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENING??!! :D http://www.standard.co.uk/goingout/attractions/derren-brown-promises-virtual-reality-ghost-train-will-give-fans-ride-of-...
Projectors still off yesterday and today, 1st time I've been on it, I wondered what was missing in the indoor queue, any video of it working? This video gives the basic gist of what goes on - it's quite cool! Ooooooh I like that, shame it wasn't working, just a boring dark room otherwise, that's co...
Alton towers is frustrating for the same reason, even the skyride wasn't open by 11am most days we were there, that really should open dead on normal park opening at 10am at the latest, part of the magic of the park especially for new guests is going on the monorail then straight on the skyride to g...
If the park opens at 9.30 when do the rides open? I know you can get in AT at 9 but even the early ride time rides like Spinball don't seem run until 9.30, is there any point getting to Thorpe at 9.30 tomorrow?
I can't decide whether to try and get on this in the next few days while I have some time off or wait until it's fully open, the queues are likely much smaller now than when it opens in the school holidays, but I run the risk of it not being open and/or it being an inferior ride experience. Ahhhhhhh...
on a different note, why is hex closed? Really missed that too for the same reason. Hex is closed as it is undergoing some Towers Loving Care this season. When it re-opens is anybody's guess but I'd like to see it open before the end of the season. Seems a bit bizarre, why not do it in the closed s...
I've just returned from a 3 day trip, really missed Th13teen, it was closed the entire time, I really hoped it would open before we left, it's something that appeals to all, much like Spinball, on a different note, why is hex closed? Really missed that too for the same reason.
I really like Th13teen but we already have that, less is less, as for sw8 I've never been a big fan of wooden Rollercoasters, all the ones I've ridden have been horrible, hopefully sw8 will be different.
I think removing Spinball would be a big mistake, it appeals to thrill seekers and families alike, I'm not sure what sort of replacement would ever manage that.
Really looking forward to this, we did have an earlier trip to Thorpe planned but delayed it in the hope the ghost train would be open by July, it's now stuck on the end of an Alton Towers trip in a few weeks, 4 day theme park marathon, hopefully this will be the icing on the cake! It should be full...
Decided months ago to go to Thorpe next Wednesday based on the Smiler opening being delayed, so giving this ample time to be open after the original opening date seemed like a good idea, seems like I might be there only a few days after opening, Or atleast now hoping that's the case! I missed the Sm...
