Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

What do you guys think they will do with the pit then? do you think they will air tunnel us again and leave it boring old concrete with no decoration? That would be a bit of a let down, was really looking forward to the plazza area, being able to sit under the cobra-roll and the batwing would have b...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

I really hope that the concrete ditch that the cobra-roll and batwing sit in gets covered up :/ I've said it before but I'm getting worried now as the game also has it uncovered :/ What could they put round it to make it look better?

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Just shows you how fast rollercoasters can be constructed these days and with more probably being built lower down the site, I expect to see a good decent amount of progress since the last aerial update :) There is going to be some amount of steel placed above that toilet block when both the track a...

And if you look on the actual smiler wiki it says 14 inversions  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Smiler_(roller_coaster)

Don't trust everything on Wikipedia anybody can change information or put false information in :) it is plausible though but I would guess more around 12 :)

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

IT does seem awfully low, would be hard to get any sort of plaza area in there whatsoever. I suppose we shall just have to wait and see :)

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

I don't think they would have revealed the name of the ride that long ago :) I'm quite sure this won't be the name :) It says at the top of the article that it was posted on metro at 12:00 am 21st Jan. I could be wrong though :/ I doubt it would be revealed that quickly im sure. (My first post :') ...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

I'm not sure  :| it just sounds like AT could come up with a way better name than that! It sounds so pathetic  :| PLus knowing the Metro they just researched the name and that was the first thing they found :P The one thing I hope is that the concrete the Cobra Roll and Batwing sit in gets...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

The Inoculator is such a terrible name, I doubt they'd use the word 'the' before any Alton Towers major coaster - it just doesn't make it seem as in iconic and SW7 looks to be the most iconic roller coaster at Alton Towers ever. Yeah I'm not sure it sounds like a name either, maybe if it was just '...

Re: How Would You Feel About a New UK Theme Park?

Scotland needs one badly! I'm saying this because the best theme park in Scotland is M&D's and being Scottish myself it's such a terrible theme park! I really would like one to be built up here as the closest decent theme park is Alton Towers or Flamingoland! Rubbish! We Need A Theme Park Pronto...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

I'm actually really looking forward to this ride! For once I think we are going to get a new World's First which pushes the boundaries with a unique layout and a world's first piece. At Alton Towers we usually get a new ride that is the first of it's kind in the world, but because of that we usually...

Re: Wooden zero g roll

Its not a zero G Roll by the looks of it, goes in and out the same way. It doesn't do a full 360 degrees so I don't think it is! Looks to be an extreme Stengel Dive like that on the new Skyrush coaster in America.

Thing is it still looks insane though! :D

Re: Wooden zero g roll

WOW! That looks nice, but not sure how safe it will feel! Definitely has a partial inversion because you can see the brackets on the beam above the track! Have to wait and see though, will be looking forward to seeing whats going on here!

Re: PortAventura 2012: "Shambhala" B&M Mega Coaster

I think that giant Buddha statue will look awesome! I have always thought that PA's area theme's were brilliant! Such detail! The only thing I was AT did more of!

Re: PortAventura 2012: "Shambhala" B&M Mega Coaster

I love the new area under both rides, looks so fresh! Will be nice with both rides running at the same time in that area. I'm glad they have done it because when I went on the Dragon Khan a few years ago at night the hot vegetation round about the first drop had quite a smell coming off it! Wasn't v...

I don't get to travel much, plus I go to University and will probably not be able to travel for a good amount of years :/

Re: Parc Asterix 2012: "Oz'Iris" B&M Invert!

The last picture of the set on the last page looks close for comfort on leg room when you enter the whole into the ground! That will be a brilliant part! Shame I will probably never get to ride it  :(

Is Shambhala part of a new theme area?

I am not sure where it fits in.

I have a feeling it is in a new area of its own, think I read it somewhere :) Not completely sure though :)

Re: PortAventura 2012: "Shambhala" B&M Mega Coaster

Just loved the image of Dragon Khan on top of the hill, now it's just overpowered and doesn't look as overwhelming compared to Shambhala :/ Don't get me wrong Shambhala looks amazing but two rides that are as important as those should not cross or belittle the other. I know Nemesis and Air have been...
