Re: The Merlin Annual Pass

Remember if you buy one to think whether you are just getting one for the sake of it, because we have a redundant one at home that we don't like to carry around, plus we never buy more than one soft drink per visit!

You can get cheap ponchos for £2 in the Flume and Rapids queue lines, but the nicer ones from the shops are about £6-£7 :)

Don't want to burst any bubbles here, but after doing a reverse image search the box track image that was posted on the last page was first posted in 2010 here:

Re: Rude staff?

No, you should not expect or tolerate that - I personally have never seen such behaviour from Towers staff, but if I was to get it, I would be off to Guest Services with the staff member's first name and their area of work to file a complaint. Staff should always conduct themselves in a professional...

Re: TEA/AECOM Park Attendance 2011

I am sure that Towers was reported (on here) to have had around 3m visitors in 2010 - do they just underestimate the figures?

Re: Quick Questions 2012

I have a comment about the waterpark that I would like to be passed on - how can I email the waterpark or Alton Towers guest services?

Thanks in advance :)

Re: PortAventura 2012: "Shambhala" B&M Mega Coaster

The sad thing is, if PA had designed a better queue, it would be vandalised within months of opening, much like I am sure the few walls will be covered with graffiti by now. PortAventura is a great resort with amazing potential and high yearly profits and attendance, but small things like graffiti a...

Indeed! PortAventura was a joint venture between Universal, the Tussauds Group and Busch, and then from 2000 became solely owned by Universal until 2004.

Re: Off Peak Closure of SkyRide and Other Cuts

The easiest thing they could do in the short term would simply be to extend opening hours and offer ERT for hotel guests only, it is simply not fair that hotel guests paying upto £300 per night  have to face this. The hotel also is completely not designed to handle the crowds for the waterpark....

Re: Off Peak Closure of SkyRide and Other Cuts

Not sure if this fits in with this topic or the Waterpark improvements one, but as Astro said, the operating hours are a joke! The outdoor slides were open for about three hours yesterday - that was it, and whilst in the queue for Master Blaster the amount of people going upto them and then coming b...

Just make two reservations and when checking in, ask to keep the same room and explain your situation. Have a good stay at Alton Towers!

Re: Is park entry included??

If you were asked on the phone to book them then no, your package would not have included tickets. I would say 90% of hotel bookings no longer come with free/included tickets, or waterpark tickets for that matter.  :x

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (May Contain Spoilers)

I'm disabled so when I go on Sub-Terra on my trip tomorrow, I'll most likely be using the disabled entrance. Does anyone know whether this skips any parts of the preshow or anything out? It would be a shame to miss a part of the ride just because I'm going through the disabled entrance. I think you...

It looks good from the overview! I would recommend using some track catwalks to make the brakerun seem more realistic.

Sounds a strange suggestion but I would love to see a nicely themed Screamin' Swing on it's own, with the major development joining it later on! :)

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (May Contain Spoilers)

Its really good to see that the park are making these changes, as said before when Hex opened it was a poor experience but they tweaked it and made a masterpiece, luckily back then social media didn;t exist to bring the bad PR they had this time around. I do think however Sub-Terra and Th13teen nee...

I think you can also get ERT if you have a normal ticket, but show your hotel room key.
