Re: Devoness Park

I agree with above posts about foliage and I think all you could definitely use more variety with it, but I adore your Metropolis style area and coaster. To make the new area more realistic break up the mass of brick floor with flowerbeds or expand that river into the area a bit more. :)

Re: Is the park ever quiet these days?

The all round attitude. There were people blocking entrance to Hex/Dark Forest and swearing/smoking in queuelines, queue jumping and just left a bad taste in the mouth. Apparently according to AT T&C you can get a fine for smoking on park unless in the smoking areas. Ive yet to see anyone even ...

Re: Is the park ever quiet these days?

Thinking about going on either Easter Sunday or the Bank Holiday Monday. Does anyone know what the crowd levels could be like on those days? I would Avoid park at these times. Gypsy Weekend and bank holiday. Lots of violence :( Does this 'Gypsy Weekend' include the Friday? :O Certainly hope not, as...

Re: Portaventura tips!!!

Having been almost every year for the past few years and stayed onsite, I would say it is invaluable to stay at Hotel PortAventura/Villa Mediterranea or Hotel Gold River as they have direct park access, so you can just walk in and out as you please, plus they tend to let you in to the park earlier. ...

Re: PortAventura 2012: "Shambhala" B&M Mega Coaster

It just depresses me that after 17 years they've abandoned the idea of having distinct, self-contained themed areas each with their own coaster skyline and they now have just gone for a Magic Mountain-style skyline which has driven a bulldozer through any remnants of their attempt to make the park ...

Re: RCT3 - Elmwood Lake Adventure Park (NEW ATTRACTIONS - 14th Feb)

Both the story and the park are brilliant - the way how the park blends with the landscape and brings guests closer to nature is great and reminds me of a Center Parcs style theme park - it looks great! Just one question - where are the fences for the Tilt-a-whirl from?

Re: RCT3 park: Foxwood valley

Wow looking good so far! The best suggestions I could think of would be more path items (e.g benches, planters) to break up the paths and to use more foliage around the rides, but other than that looking good!

Re: 250-room hotel planned for West Midlands Safari Park

You would be surprised at how much money the park make from wristbands, in fact most visitors that take advantage of the free return ticket offer buy a wristband each time, meaning their strategy is quite clever. They have invested a fair amount of money in improving the image of the park over the l...

Re: 2012: Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs – The 4-D Experience

Clicked the 2012 Alton Towers link... clicked on the link for the New Ice Age rooms... thought, I'll try to book, and see how much they are. The link sends you to the normal hotel booking site, and abandons you as a normal booking.  typical.  Advertise the rooms available for booking, but...

^I completely agree. I think whilst Fastrack is still expensive (Especially Platinum that was only £40 a few years back!) I think the new packages are better and it is interesting that bolt ons are now available. :)

Re: 2011 / 2012 Closed Season - Resort Updates and Improvements

I like refreshed paintwork as much as any other, but why is it Alton Towers only ever seem to remove detail and never add it with anything?  :( We're forgetting the bookcase just one level up here... nothing there before, and now that. They do add as well as take away.. Bookcase? what's that? ...
