Re: Why can’t we take mobile phones on Rita?

I think that it is something to do wiTh how magnets are used on intamin rides. I say this as there are signs at the entrances to rita, thirteen and stealth all saying that electronic devices will be effected by a strong magnetic field not these rides

Re: Scarefest 2011: General Discussion

Did all 3 mazes yesterday and all i can say is WOW! First, I did boiler house which was a very long queue around 35 minutes I think, but it was bearable. [spoiler:1bw6q0ij]Upon entering the maze I wasnt actually quite as scared by the first scene, it didn't last as long as seemed as though it was do...

Re: Scarefest 2011: General Discussion

Just To let everyone know towersjake queue jumped for ZOMBIES! before it opened. But I really enjoyed scarefest this year apart from the appalling state of the lights. Also, as mentioned earlier the encryptions on the walls near TOTT were all upside down, and out of focusing, disappointing really. B...

Re: Scarefest 2011: General Discussion

Just to confirm what AT teejay said:

Barker: An employee who stands before the entrance to a show, as at a carnival, and solicits customers with a loud sales spiel.

Really can't wait for this years scarefest! :hinsane:

Re: Scarefest 2011: General Discussion

Well dan that sounds too exteme for me I don't think I would be able to cope with them types of scares :herm: :P but at Thorpe park in saw alive you had the whole "don't touch them and they won't touch you" but in actual fact I got touched on 3 occasions. I got rubbed on the backed of the ...

Re: Scarefest 2011

IF They do end up back in the hotel marquee... Would they change the opening times back to late night? I can see this being very annoying if we have to go off park for the mazes (most of us have already booked our tickets for the early slot), then back on park, then back to the hotels to get change...

Man actually wins on hole in 1 car attraction

A man has won on the hole in 1 attraction finally. But as said on the page confirmed by Alton towers, apparently, on average 2 cars are won each season, which I found surprising.

Re: Scarefest 2011

I think its obvious that Theme Parks need to keep charging to survive in this country. THEY NEED TO KEEP CHARGING TO SURVIVE?! ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?! Merlin made a £255.8 million profit last year... I'd call that mkre than survivng. Don't get me wrong I love Alton towers and with annual passes ...

Re: Thorpe park vs Alton towers

To be honest I prefer Thorpe Park. The customer service is generally better, I'm sorry but Alton towers customer service is second to none. They are always having a laugh and a joke and being generally friendly, asking how peoples days are. I know that they are told to do this but it's still nice t...

Wow Poor man. I was fine, you couldn't see a scratch or anything, it just flew right in front of us and it hit me in the face and hit my friend on the hand.

Re: Separate queue for annual pass holders?

Personally, I think of this as a welcome addition. With this years new turnstiles I have never been able to scan it, the assisant has always had to do it. I also don't find it to increase the waiting time, although I can imagine later on it is a larger queue. Also i have just thought about scarefest...

Have you ever...

Today on a visit to the towers i had a very unique experience. Whilst riding nemesis front row, i hit a pigeon... right in the face :P. It was a WTF moment, and it got me thinking, have any of you had your own unusual experience?

Re: Thirteen CLOSED

Thirteen was testing at the end of today and all that could be seen was an Alton towers van and a man walking into the bottom of the drop section.
