I don't know if this has been said before but the Corkscrew dismantling started on Monday 24th November and finished nearly two weeks ago. It was dismantled by BL Hopkinson Constructional Engineering who originally put it up.

The excavations etc for Oblivion were done by a company from Stafford shire. The excavations for Nemesis were done by a company that dealt with drilling and explosives.
I think that the switchback may take place behind there yes. It could be a piece of the story yes, or it could be another bit of the themeing. I would love the ride cars to have in built speakers, perhaps telling a story as it moved up the lift hill. That would be great. Unless the whole queue line...
