Re: Corkscrew loops?

That would be amazing!

Having new track built around the corkscrews...it will never happen, but would be amazing.

What I'm hoping for is for a straight part of the ride to have the corkscrews spiralling around the track.

The press know it already. Anything to fill another couple of column inches in the paper.

Re: Alton Towers offers speed dating

Scarefest was amazingly busy last year. Do they really need to advertise it on TV?

I think if they were to start doing TV ad's then it should be building up for the opening of SW6.

I don't mind these free publicity things. They aren't too annoying.

Re: Alton Towers offers speed dating

Okay this is getting a bit tedious now, no need for all these stupid marketing ploys, seriously Alton, enough now. Why not advertise Scarefest on TV now yeah? Leaking a story to the press about something like this is free. Advertising on TV costs millions. Also actually at the park, enforcing speed...

Re: ADHD 'queue jumpers'

Learning difficulties and physical disability within reason are the only ones that should use the exit. If someone say had an arm missing, technically physically disabled, but perfectly capable of queueing, they should use the queue. Maybe Alton should lay down some guidelines. People that 100% have...

Re: 20% Discount - Pass Number Logging (Now On Park)

If the receipts aren't being checked by management (which it sounds like its probably true because they'd have to check loads), there is nothing stopping the cashier from writing a random string of numbers on the receipt. Alton Towers...either get a barcode reading system on the tills, or stop getti...

Re: ADHD 'queue jumpers'

I have nothing against any disabilities, technically i have a minor disability myself, but it does annoy me how unfair the system is at AT. Basically they can get on rides without queue times, which is fair enough, it is a hassle for them to get on rides due to safety reasons and it isnt always comf...

Re: 20% Discount - Pass Number Logging (Now On Park)

To be honest, an even easier way of doing it would be to have a bar code reader on each till that stores the data manually, then at the end of the day/shift, upload all the data from each till to the network rather than having it done in real time. At the minute I'm guessing if they are checking it,...

Re: Air Tunnel

One of the best parts of Air is 'assuming the position'. The lights come on in the station and you start feeling ready, that really is part of the magic of the ride. However, 10 seconds later, you are in a dingy concrete hole. The feeling you got from the lights and stuff in the station are almost f...

Re: 20% Discount - Pass Number Logging (Now On Park)

I've never studied barcodes, but all you would need in a bar code to trigger the 20% discount is a small bit of coding (two or three vertical lines) and the system would easily be able to take the 20% off. If however they wanted to track usage, so find out how many times one person uses their card i...

Re: Air - Total Re-theme?

I always thought that air should have more theming, maybe not a complete retheme, but it does need more. The original plans obviously aren't going to happen and from the looks of it, the tunnel will never have any paint job or anything like that. The only way I can see Air getting a retheme, or even...

Re: Duel

I like the ride. Unfortunately I never got to see the Haunted House in it's glory days, maybe if I had, I wouldn't speak so highly of duel as it is now. The only qualm I have with it is that the tunnel doesn't always spin. That is the best effect on the ride, and since 2004ish I'd say every other ti...

A news report came on at work last week with the banning of arm raising and most people i work with believed it was true, they honestly didn't detect publicity in it.

Re: Possible removals at the end of the 2009 season...

The franchised outlets still bump their prices up, but are better value for money than Alton Towers own places. Although i always eat at AT's ones if I can help it, much better quality, especially Rita's Chicken and Ribs. I just thought that KFC had already lost their contract. I'm obviously mistake...

Re: Possible removals at the end of the 2009 season...

Isn't Burger King being replaced at the end of 2009? I'm sure i read that somewhere before.

Also, are Pizza Hut and KFC still open in X sector? Last time i was there, it looked open, but I didn't investigate.

Re: Alton Towers: 10 Year Plan Revealed!

If they move the entrance, or create a second one, then it needs to be in a similar place and style to the current one. It shouldn't have narrow paths and it should open up into a big open space so people can spread out and go in multiple directions. Having the entrance at Forbidden Valley would be ...

Re: Solving the traffic issue

I'm not 100% sure on this, but when I went to Scarefest, we came in a different way that wasnt through Alton, and if I remember rightly, we didnt pass any cars or houses. The roads were very narrow and difficult at times, but surely doing work to this road could really help. Also if there were two e...

Re: Ride Effects

The best ride on Oblivion is definately in the dark at night, it really is very very dark down there and you literally can't see anything. In the day time as soon as you are in the hole, you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I think in the day time it needs something down there to add more...

Re: The Future of the SKYRIDE

I really hope they do keep them open, hopefully for as long as they can safely run. If you are queueing to get in at opening time, getting on them really can help you get to the front of the queues for certain rides. Especially Nemesis. At the end of the day about half an hour before closing, they g...
