Re: Thorpe Park - New Indoor Attraction 2016

Where does it state in any of the planning documents that the ride includes a world first?

Re: Mechanica - Liseberg - Opening 2015

Air is a stunning, well operated ride. This will no doubt be the same, albeit on a programmed cycle! The best part about this announcement? IMAScore are doing the soundtrack!

I'm really glad to see more parks investing in Zierer though. They really are a fantastic company!

Merlin just installed 2 B&M coasters in a row at Heide Park and Gardaland. Your point is invalid.

The tower is 20ft and top loading. It's not all that powerful due to the floor.

Re: 2015 Adventure Land Development?

TBH, Merlin would never get a Zamperla, especially for AT. AT is apparently their flagship park, so no "cheap" or "badly reviewed" manufacturers would be used. Zamperla tend to be more used by Flamingoland, they have installed several. You do realise the following rides are Zamp...

Re: Thorpe Park - Next Coaster 2016?

Just to pull this topic back on track slightly. You do all realise that Thorpe's big investment year is 2015 - Which will most likely be the lakeside hotel. Chessington's big investment is 2016 (I know this as fact). Merlin aren't daft enough to open two big rides next to each other in one year. Tho...

Re: Thorpe Park - Next Coaster 2016?

Wow. I simply cannot comprehend the amount of rubbish being discussed here. Here's a few things we know. 1. It won't be for 2016. 2. It's unlikely to be a dark ride. 3. It's unlikely to be a hyper coaster. 4. We don't know who will build it. 5. We can't trust anyone who claims to have sources who is...

B&M don't like doing launches so I think this concept is highly unlikely, even more so with how heavy their Wing Coaster trains are.

They have stated in the past that they have developed the technology, but are still waiting for a park to buy into it.

Re: Thorpe Park - Next Coaster 2016?

Thorpe are building a permanent hotel soon. Surely that'll lead to the demise of the Shark Hotel and re-open that space for a ride?

Gerstlauer actually is Schwarzkopf... Sigfried Gerstlauer (Founder & Lead Engineer) used to work for Anton, they also use the same facilities.

I take it you don't know that the Black Hole lives on following a full refurb by Gerstlauer?

Re: Thorpe Park - Next Coaster 2016?

Okay. Let's look at records in a logical way. Longest: Not gonna happen. Thorpe just doesn't have the space required, not to mention it'd cost well above Merlin budgets. Tallest: Same as above, no space & Merlin. Fastest: Possible, but unlikely due to space and cost. Most Inversions: Merlin aren...

Re: Thorpe Park - Next Coaster 2016?

If Thorpe was getting a coaster next year we would've known something about it by now. Planing permission would have surfaced along with many rumours, it has been out back a year, possibly due to the money going in to accommodation :) Thorpes coaster addition has been pushed back 2 years. So 2017. ...

Really great, fun site. Really like it and always worthy of a visit every now and then. That said, it seems the image galleries in the news section aren't working at the moment? And one small bug-bear, when looking at images on a ride or area page, because they open in a new page, when you click ba...
