Re: What is so bad about Nemesis Inferno?

What the heck is with this thread? Nobody 'hates' Inferno. It's just generally not as highly rated as Nemesis. ^This. I mean, for people to say that Inferno is " bitterly despised " is just laughable, to be honest. While there may be one or two 'extremists' on this forum to which this app...

Re: Thorpe Park 2015 Coaster

I am really getting annoyed about having people complaining about chavs. I find it no worse than Chessington, or where I live (Streatham). But then again, people coming from village or something, then it may be bad. But people go on about it. It's not as if you are going to be stabbed. Yup, that'd ...

Re: Merlin Parks Quick Questions

I know they exist for Saw, Vampire, Nemesis, Oblivion, possibly Thirteen(??), and (if you want to go abroad) Krake as well :P.

Not sure on price, but I would imagine much of a muchness with the Swarm and Stealth ones.

The thing to watch out for would be the terms and conditions of the car park itself, though - might say 'for patrons only' or similar somewhere. Then again, it might not...

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (ATTRACTION CLOSED 20-25 MAY)

From what I understand of the system, and having watched it resetting whilst exiting (yep, it's still resetting), a second drop would take forever, and half-way drops, bounces etc. wouldn't be possible. This is how I believe the towers work - I don't know that this is correct, but I personally am fa...

Re: Merlin Parks Quick Questions

Well, that's precisely the day that TTF South Meet people will be at Thorpe. It'll undoubtedly be more busy than a weekday, but given the season so far, it probably won't be unbearable.

Re: Chessington World Of Adventures: General Discussion

^Yep. Due to a mixture of fast track guests (can't merge them too far up the queue, and fire regs (or so I heard, but probably more to do with fast track).

Re: Europa-Park: Trip Planning, Questions and Advice!

I have been having a look and trying to work out the costs for a visit to Europa park. I found this B&B right by the entrance and it looks like you can walk strait in to the park from the B&B , is that correct? http://prntscr.com/9i2w9 Its the one called pension sigg. Well, it's around a 1 ...

2012 Freefall Drop Coaster and Polar Land for Lego Billund

Nope, I stick with what I said (with the exception of 'loads of airtime' - there's definitely a fair bit, more than Thirteen - but 'loads' is perhaps a little OTT). The theming within the drop zone is completely, truly dire - it's the inside of the rockwork, which should never be seen. The section a...

Re: Off Peak Closure of SkyRide and Other Cuts

^I think, unless I've massively misunderstood lozzyhickers' post and specifically the part that she quoted in bold, that she is referring specifically to the 'loud fooling around' on rides like Hex and Sub-Terra, which you confirm that you don't like. I think it's an important issue - I don't think ...

Re: Chessington World Of Adventures: General Discussion

^I'd like to think that's not particularly true, given that it's again indicative of Merlin's cutbacks. Just 'cause TTFers aren't at all Legoland's target market doesn't mean that this isn't on a par with Chessington's closure ;). Presumably the entire back third of the park is closed off until that...

Re: Chessington World Of Adventures: General Discussion

Found out today that it's not just Chessington suffering from later opening of some areas - Legoland are doing it to, with Land of the Vikings, Pirates Landing and Knights Kingdom opening at 11am on off-peak days: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v616/BHHIslander/Photo17-05-2012152252.jpg

Re: Off Peak Closure of SkyRide and Other Cuts

Always mystified by the dislike towards LWV's Facebook wind ups. Isn't it the point of capitalism and competition that you try to explain why your product is better than your competitor in some way? It just seems childish. You have to question why they don't put as much effort into marketing when M...

Re: New Cable-Car for London: "Emirates Air Line"

Well, I think that's the point, it wasn't (supposedly). I'd like to think that they're just massively hedging their bets, as Sam says, to avoid a backlash if it isn't ready in time, but at the same time I can easily believe that it actually won't be ready in time. Won't that look great, though - one...

Not sure it's been released yet, but I'm sure if you ask certain members (Navex and Magrathea come to mind), they'll happily do a completely accurate impersonation of it for you. Honest, their interpretation of it is bang-on ;)

Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm and General Discussion

Meat Pie wrote:
Does this perhaps mean we will see a return for Tidal Wave's fire effects?

Or would it require too much money to sort that out as well?

It's already been said that Thorpe are looking to reinstate that, though most likely next season. There's loads of info further back in this thread.

Idea: Alton's own 'Aquanura'

Legoland used to bring in floating fountains for their after dark shows. They were (of course) tiny ( in area/number of jets ) compared to most the displays linked to on here, but they were certainly very, very tall! Also had some 'moving heads'. I think a floating display could work. I've got video...

Re: Would a Thomas Land style area fundamentally improve Thorpe?

Seriously, how is this debate even continuing. Merlin would not be persuing this direction if it wasn't already working and making them plenty of money. Agreed with Adz though - how this debate of 'young adults is too small of a target market' can continue for this long is more surprising than the ...

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm

Anyone would think you wanted queues Dan  Well, we do from the point of view that we want parks to actually be successful... It's not doing well this season in terms of guests. Queue times just don't seem very big at all. Concerning given they have a big, expensive new toy. A bit weird, too. W...
