Thorpe Park - 21st-23rd Oct - PTR

Thorpe Park Fright Nights - 21st-23rd October. Who went: Me and Stuart. Overall ride count; Stealth x25 Inferno x8 Colossus x1 Saw x1 Storm Surge x1 Rush x1 Flying Fish x1 It might look like a poor ride count considering we were there for three days, but we spent time doing the mazes also and queue...

Re: Travelers on park today

They were a pain in the arse and did manage to ruin a few parts of the day, especially the final hour. We had made a little plan that we'd get everything done that we wanted before going off to do ToTT around half 8, what a huge mistake this turned out to be and was a real disappointment after a dec...

Re: Scarefest 2011: General Discussion

I have enjoyed the two days I did at Scarefest and while I appreciate that not everything will be perfect on the first weekend, I was disappointed with a few things, but thankfully the positive does outweigh the negative for me. I really cannot understand why Nemesis has got so many floodlights on, ...

Re: Scarefest 2011: General Discussion

Last season, at the Scarefest setup, (which I worked), they didn't put all the lighting effects up etc. The blue tinted gels on XSector came half way through Scarefest. And more lighting and tweaks were made upto the last week. So don't just judge off the first night. Go back on the last week, and ...

Re: Scarefest 2011: General Discussion

Duel Live will most certainly be missed, I know it was a little tame last year and not the same as previous years, but it was still a laugh and something I really enjoyed. I've decided to do both days for Scarefest this weekend, it's usually the quiet week of the event and with it being my only chan...

No Hellgate or Terror Zone this year as they've been removed.

Are any of those a direct replacement to Hellgate, out of interest?

Roll on the weekend! :)

Re: Experiment 10

There really is no chance I'll be doing this after reading the spoilers, I am not as fearful doing these types of attractions as I used to be, but I think this would be a bit too much for someone who is quite jumpy!

I'll do the others but not this one.

Re: Scarefest 2011: General Discussion

It they didn't need lights for safety then they would keep Flume, Skyride and the gardens open after dark wouldn't they? The Flume and Sky Ride are closed once it starts to get dark because if they were to have a breakdown and require an evacuation, it wouldn't be safe to evacuate either of those r...

Re: Scarefest 2011: General Discussion

Agreed with Dan, it's better than having no event at all or an event that only lasts a few days, or as it is with PB, one day!

I'll be visiting Towers for Scarefest during the first weekend, looking forward to it! :)

Re: Scarefest 2011

It's looking like it could be another impressive Scarefest event and it's something I do enjoy about Towers, and will be visiting at least once during Scarefest. I am a little bit confused about the situation with Duel, is anything happening with it this year or will it continue to operate as normal...

Re: Help us help the park: Merlin - Their Response:

It's a shame there was no reason given for the daft car parking prices, but apart from that, it's great to see they got in touch with you after the recent concerns about the direction Towers is taking.

Re: Rita - Shorter Straps HELP!

It's a pain in the arse this new seatbelt situation on Rita, I had no issues what so ever getting in Stealth, yet I only just fit in Rita the other week, I am a big lad but not 'fat' and shouldn't be having any issue to get into Rita. It could present a very embarrasing situation for a lot of people...

Re: Valhalla plans?

Almost as famous as Oblivion? I'd say PMBO and Ice Blast outshine Oblivion as landmarks over here, especially PMBO anyway, the Blackpool skyline wouldn't be the same without those two rides there and Oblivion just doesn't seem to have that wow factor like it did when it was new. For me, Valhal...

Re: Valhalla plans?

It's the marmite ride for all PB fans. I don't see anything great that it has done for PB, what has happened since PB? SBNO rides for the first time in the park's history, 2001. Guest figures dropped. Opening times reduced. Log Flume removed, partly because it's limelight was taken away by Valhalla....

Re: Valhalla plans?

As a Pleasure Beach fan, I wish PB had never built Valhalla. For me, it isn't that special and it is a huge burden on PB's finances, I am pretty sure if PB had the money to remove and replace it with a worthwhile attraction, they probably would do. The capacity is nothing to do with the cost either,...

Re: PortAventura Park 28th May- 4Th June 2011

I am delighted to read that Stampida is now smoother, it used to be smooth-ish, but for some reason it was unbearable last year and I was put off doing it, because it was far too rough. Another Baco fan, also happy to see this! I never have any issues with Baco, I think it's a great ride and find Ri...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach - 19th June 2011

For the price, PB need to invest in some thrill rides? Why? It's less than Towers and Thorpe, and they've just opened a new family area which wasn't a cheap investment, it's one of the best value days out in the country, so I think you are being very unreasonable. I am at a loss why they 'need' new ...

Re: Alton Towers Suitable for large events?

I've been reading this topic with interest and noticed that JCB has been spoken about a fair bit, so I thought I'd post what I know about the place in Uttoxeter. They are taking on, almost all the time, on a weekly basis, new people starting there and they are very busy at the moment, a lot of the s...
