Re: Towers Steet Fastpass?

I have to admit on Saturday I felt more like I was walking around a high street market place than entering a magical theme park world. I've never felt so uncomfortable on Towers Street in my life (Fireworks expemt ;) ) It seemed that every few feet someone was pouncing on you with some offer or prod...

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (**contains spoilers**)

Well it certainly sounds from the various pieces of feedback I've heard over the past few days that the ride has significantly improved. Personally, I won't be riding it again as I found it more than stressful enough on opening day, and it's really not something I'd enjoy. The only real issue I have...

Re: Park Music and Videos

4 different gondolas through the day. 3 with this audio I described above, and 1 with no audio :)

As for the monorail I heard no audio on either of my trips :P The Towers Street station had nothing in it today :(

Re: Park Music and Videos

The Skyride has had it's audio changed again. The Ident sound, ITHOMK, and fast talking voices are gone, and instead a new relaxing a slower track is used :D

Phantasialand-Fans.de :)

I think the term "funhouse" is very vauge. I'd expect something along the lines of a Berry Bish Bash/Wobble World hybrid, rather than this :P

Re: Bote's Bits and Bobs

Well guys, here's another little project I've been working at for a few months now. I present to you Amazuri River Rapids http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/2341/1ca97bd9a8954b819a67357.png This is an almost ( :P ) fully functioning rapids ride, built using the tutorial Captain created for us :D I'd...

Re: Phantasialand: 2012

Well put it this way, the last time Phantasialand looked to be this bad judging by photos they built Black Mamba :P

I have really high expectations and can't wait to see what turns up :D

Re: Phantasialand: 2012

Just thought I'd bump this topic up so people can see the background to this. I've been following this rather closely since the removal of the two flumes, and recently some rumors have been flying around various German forums. First of all, some photos of the site a few weeks back (Curtosy as the wo...

Re: 2012 operational cuts

It was Merlin who indeed overuled it in the end, but only after the mass of complaints sent directly to them regarding it. However, as said earlier, Mr Varney said he visited the park in person to see what it was like just before it was all removed. Why was this the first time him (And other Merlin ...

Re: 2012 operational cuts

Yes, but the majority of the Alton Towers management aren't sat in an office Poole, or some other far flung part of the world. They are out at the park day on day actively walking around the park listening to people and seeing what happens on a daily basis. They see what happens to the park first ha...

Re: Aesthetically pleasing coasters

Nemesis has a carpark and road just over the back of it. Silver Star is built over a car park. Just saying :P It can't really be helped when it's something essential. Besides, as they haven't tried to pass off the road as part of the ride yet I don't think it really matters. The coaster and intentio...

Bandit is one of those coasters I'd love to ride :P My favourite 5: Colossus (Thorpe Park) http://cache.rcdb.com/1u9faf8tgh711mg1c4000m.jpg http://www.ukparknews.co.uk/entry/cms/wp-content/uploads/colossus.jpg Black Mamba (Phantasialand) http://cache.rcdb.com/3d337p7keo8j10h91gmg00.jpg http://cache....

Re: 2012 operational cuts

I suspect this is why Towers have made no set dates as to when the ride is closed. If they just say "may be closed on certain days" they can open and close it at will without technically misleading people. If they have actually scrapped the plan I wouldn't be surprised if they don't offici...

Re: UK's Best Water Ride?

Stormforce for me every time.

What's not to love? It's got a reverse fall, a trick track launch at the beginning, and some really good theming :D

Plus when sat in the right place it has the ability to absolutely drench you :P

Re: Off Peak Closure of SkyRide and Other Cuts

It is surprising how quickly money mounts up at parks, but I have always felt Alton has been pushing it a bit. Like May others here MAP and ATAP are a godsend. I save so much money thanks to it. However, for most other people that is a considerable amount for just 1 weekend in the UK. To put it into...

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm and General Discussion

Rust and dirt aside Colossus is a very nice looking coaster if you ask me. There are some areas of theming on it which are beautiful, like the elaborate mosaic on the floor under the cobra roll. The station isn't exactly a tin shed inside either. There are some really nice touches around the ride, a...

Re: Off Peak Closure of SkyRide and Other Cuts

The only real issue I can see with a waterpark extension is that they will no doubt increase their maximum capacity along in line with the new features and expansions, which on some days will not be a problem as the average guest numbers will stay the same and be spread much more thinly throughout t...
