Re: Thorpe Park: Future Discussion

Thanks :)
Both very decent heights considering the previous limits and glad we're getting the taller one first to pull in the crowds from the olympics :D
More visitors at TP- More money for Merlin- More investment for AT 8)

Re: Which Attraction gains most from the Annual Passes?

Aha, that's an easy mistake to make. On the fb page once, a woman said something like 'You can get a wristband which lets you on all the rides as many times as you want! Way cheaper than paying for each' ](*,) I think that means she paid for platinum fast track and went in the normal queue.. O...

Re: Thorpe Park: Future Discussion

The MTDP does look interesting :)
But can someone tell me if the 2012 coaster will be the 50m one of 45m one? Thanks :D

Re: The Tussauds Days V's The Merlin Days

Construction started at the beginning of 2009, with track delivered and installed near the end of 2009. The finishing touches such as the warehouse facade and effects were completed over the closed season. :) Think you might have got your years mixed up.. SAW opened at the beginning of 2009.. Anywa...

Re: new rollercoaster concepts

Not really keen on that idea, I avoid tidal wave normally because frankly, it's far too wet. A powered drop wouldn't go well on a water ride and it's gimmicky. I'd rather just have a simple, gimmick free rollercoaster which is brilliant for what it is without having to rely on something like that.

Re: Alton Towers next thrill ride

Overall, pretty pleased with what's been said. My heart did drop a little bit when I read there won't be a woodie. :( Especially when it said it would have the biggest drop on a wooden coaster. At least it hints that there is a chance of a cross valley coaster even if it's not a woodie. :) B&M H...

Re: Thorpe Park & Bungee Jump 2010

Yeah, I was pretty much sure I'd rather do that than Thorpe- especially if I can go there for one day anyway. I looked at the video and it looks amazing :) Highest in the Uk and not too expensive at £70. Not exactly cheap but not too bad :) It's at windor, just outside of London, if you were interes...

I really need to get on a B&M hyper.
Nitro and Goliath look amazing. Guess I'm not going to get to do anything like that for a while..
Btw has anyone been bungee jumping? Coz I might be going soon and was wondering what it's like.. Thanks :D

Re: John Wardley' Greatest Achievement

I'm going to say nemesis, because out of all the rides listed that was the one that had the largest impact. Oblivion on the world scene has been much more stunted. You can than Busch for that; they put legal restrictions on Dive coasters in the US to prevent other parks from 'copying' their idea. T...

Thorpe Park & Bungee Jump 2010

Going to Thorpe next month for the first time in ages. Was originally going for two days but might just go for one now because of the possibility of a bungee jump.. would people suggest 2 days or just the 1? And would it be worth getting fasttrack ultimate for just one day? I think it is worth missi...

Rollercoaster Failures

Thought I'd start a new topic for rollercoasters that in your opinion are badly designed, badly made, painful or just plain terrible. I'll start off with this: http://www.rcdb.com/3050.htm?p=20301 Made me ...

Re: Cost to build a Roller coaster

I don't think Alton's coasters give a fair value to be honest. Most of them either include a lot of excavation (Blivvy, Nemmy) or new technology (Air, Thirteen) or a launch (rita- obviously) so for just a standard sit down coaster, I think it'd be around £7-£10 million. May be wrong though. :) It al...

Re: How accurate are the queue time boards?

Not normally very accurate.. although Rita's seems to be the best I find.
Air and nemesis's ones seem to always show 45 minutes no matter what
Thirteen's seems a bit better than some others too :)

In answer to Henry's question: I'm honestly not sure, for the vouchers to get in for £10 I'd assume you'd go to one of the admission booths and for the PRP's go to Guest Services, although as I said I'm not too sure.

Re: Quick Questions 2010

Okay, I'm planning to visit soon and I have 3 vouchers to get in for £10 and a voucher for 12 PRP's. Where would I go to redeem these vouchers? Would I just go to the admission booth? And for the PRP's would I go to guest services or Sales and Information? The voucher also needs proof of ID, would a...

Re: The Future of the Blackhole Tent

Right, well my opinion on it all is: A maze would be an utter waste of space. 60ft high for something which needs to be 10ft at most? A good motion simulator, similar to the Mummy or Spiderman at IoA would be good, on a smaller scale though, obviously. A small compact coaster would be good, or even ...

Re: West Midlands Safari, THORPE PARK & Chessington

Ooh, I'm going to the Safari Park the day after that lol, it's about 10 minute walk from me so go there lots :) 8)
You might not need a whole day there though, after the animals, there's only a few rides worth going on. :)
