Re: The Crystal Maze - London

That is amazing, how many 80's and 90's kids would jump at the chance to do this? Now if they can also make an adult "Fun House"... They did that in a pub in Lichfield back in May of this year. http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/watch-fun-house-return-pat-6011075" onclick="window.op...

Re: Universal Orlando Resort Discussion

When I go Orlando next Sept it be 5 years since our last trip and I got Minions ride,Transformers,Simpsons area and Kang & Kodos' Twirl 'n' Hurl,New Harry Potter area and the new Hulk coaster and King Kong next year. It's shocking how much they added in 5 years.

Re: The Crystal Maze - London

I was looking at this and is good for £50 each. I guess many on here wouldn't know what the crystal maze was.

Re: Alton Towers ownership future

I doubt under 1 ownership we would have seen a accident on the Smiler. We wouldn't have SBNO rides.areas where rides use to be and difference opening times for selected areas. I look at parks like Drayton Manor and Paulton's park and how there added more rides not just removing them. Merlin have sai...

Re: SW8

Well if it's true SW7 should have been the valley coaster then they could easily push it back again with the closure of the flume that could be now site of the SW8 coaster.

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

Management could have put the ride in manual mode and she could have pushed the wrong button which also could be Alton Towers/Merlin fault for lack of training it also could have been with management and other staff round her in the booth watching her put her under extra pressure. I get like that at...

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

But not 1 member of the team noticed the stalled train for 20 mins even after guests reported it to a few members of staff.

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

I had a good think about this and I can't believe just 1 girl is to blame for this accident. The whole team that was in charge that afternoon should be all to blame. Like a few points Does anyone know how long it was from the moment it shutdown to been manual restarted again? Did any staff go up to ...

Re: Ride Closures/Removals in 2016

I just think Merlin has got to big to manage now with the number of attractions it owns worldwide. Under Tussards they only had Alton Towers,London Eye,Madame Tussards,Thorpe park and Chessington In the uk to worry about now Merlin got all theses plus Legoland,Dungeons,Sea life and many more uk attr...

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

The Smiler reopening next season is good for Alton Towers but would guests be still willing to pay roughly £26 each with a 2 for 1 ticket just to queue up all day for Rollercoasters?

Re: Alton Towers future

I look back at Alton Towers when they were owned by the Tussauds group. I 1st went in 1993 and every year new attractions were added. When a ride/show was removed it was replaced straight away. Every area had flats to help with the queues of the coasters. Like in the past 8&a half years Merlin b...

Alton Towers ownership future

I been thinking today and the way Merlin are running Alton Towers I can see it losing it's number 1 crown next year. Since they took over in 2007 so many attractions have been closed,SBNO,earlier closing times, later ride opening times and rumours now of closed rides to save money but still charge £5...

Re: February Half Term 2016

They could still do it but only have the young family rides open like Cbeebies,Mutiny Bay,Cloud Cuckoo land,Sonic Spinball and maybe Duel and the runaway mine train.

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

The HSE could still have the 2 trains and the damage could be so bad with them the park could have ordered 2 new trains for the new season. Also HSE will have to work out which member/members of staff were involved in over riding the rides controls so they can put a case together for it to go to cou...

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

When someone was saying about how an accident should not be able to happen in the first place the blamed it on the designers (John Wardley) I asked them if they could design a coaster as ambitious, get it approved by the Staffordshire county board then make sure it could never ever go wrong at all....

Re: Ride Closures/Removals in 2016

What has Merlin got against Alton Towers. Since 2007 they removed a lot of rides and not replaced them.

It looks like there closing most them rides cause they take a lot of staff to run them.
Unless the sun have the free ticket offer next year I won't be going next season.

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

At work it's been the 1st time since June that people have been talking about the Smiler. They said with the amount of technology in the world today the computer system should have not aloud staff to restart the ride to the reported sensor was cleared. Which it wasn't as the stalled car was still th...
