Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

I see all the victims have come out and said they can't believe it's reopening and Alton Towers putting money before people.

Re: Towers Loving Care

I do hope they work on the park entrance monorail station as that's still the same since my 1st visit in 1993. The tv is there should show a different video to the 1 at the car park.

Re: SW8

Look at the new coaster at PortAventura it's already built with a train already on the track but it's not opening to 2017. I think it will be 2018 as this year they will hope the Smiler has a trouble free season and they get Charlie,Hex,Driving school,Wobble World and Sub terra looking like new and ...

Re: SW8

I so hope and prey it isn't another coaster as I think the park got to many compared to other rides. I think it could be a IP based ride and the way Merlin have Marketed Thorpe Park new dark ride I hope Alton Towers can go 1 step better. Now I know Merlin our working with a company called Triotech h...

Re: Ride Closures/Removals in 2016

It says on the website on all the closed attractions: is currently unavailable while we sprinkle some Towers Loving Care across the theme park. Visit our blog for more details about our ongoing refurbishment programme across the Resort. So it looks like it's all rides that use quite amount of staff ...

Re: Towers Loving Care

I love the work there doing to the dark forest area. Does it look like the kiosks won't be opening this season?

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

The normal GP wouldn't care if the whole ride was stripped of it's theming. There just there to ride the coaster.

That is a poor choice of colour for the box office building.

Re: Towers Loving Care

I noticed so far all the rumoured closed Attractions haven't featured on the TLC pages yet. I just hope all theses very good improvements don't get over looked by closed rides, shops and restaurants. The red water of Nemesis won't be back as July 2014 we had no much rain it filled the pit that much t...

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

I think management should invite the tv news media to the park a few days before the start of season to explain everything that's been put into place to make the Smiler and other rides even safer. Could work but imagine if they run it and it breaks down or stops on the lift hill. It could end up ha...

Re: Ride Closures/Removals in 2016

In the 90's I loved the fact that I could go to Alton Towers and get a good ride count. There was a great mixture of coasters, flats and top dark rides added. Like now unless you love coasters or under the age of 5 there isn't much to do at Alton Towers now.

Re: Towers Loving Care

Oblivion was painted 3 years ago I doubt they will do it again soon. Think Runaway mine train is the next coaster that needs some TLC followed by Rita.

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

I think when it does breakdown for longer than 5 mins then they need staff going to check the ride trains to let guests now it's just a breakdown and nothing to worry about.

Re: Ride Closures/Removals in 2016

I Hate the fact Merlin think they can remove or leave rides SBNO without no plans in place to replace them straight away. This would never have happened under Tussuards ownership. We still waiting for a replacement for Submission.

Re: Galactica - 2016 Air Re-theme

Alton Towers have updated their website to state that Galactica will open on Thursday 24th March . Seems they've got a new trick of opening a month earlier than expected now. Not that it's a bad thing... Well I think that's down to Easter been early this year. The 24th in the day the kids finish sc...

Re: Galactica - 2016 Air Re-theme

Do you think if the ride breaks down on the lift hill the video on the headset will stop playing then continue after the restart?

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

The BBC are reporting that the owners of Alton Towers are to be prosecuted following the crash on The Smiler on 2nd June 2015. This could actually help underline the fact that it was an operator error and the ride itself is safe to the general public. So although they may have a massive fine to pay...

Re: The Future of Sonic Spinball

Legoland is aimed at kids up to 12 years old. My niece was 7 when she was tall enough to ride Spinball. I doubt they will move it to another part of the park.
