Re: Winter Wonderland - Hyde Park - 23rd November 2013-5th January 2014

I have to voice my disgust. It is an absolute joke Power Tower is now £7. Disgraceful. Was it £6 last year? It was indeed and it has been that price since the ride debuted in London during the 2009 event. I get that the machines from Europe cost a lot to transport, but I bet the showmen probably do...

Re: Thorpe Park Next Coaster

Has anybody else noticed that the feedback on the woodie posts has been extremely positive? The enthusiasts must make up for a very small amount of traffic on Thorpe's Facebook page so these responses are encouraging. I think they are definitely looking at an airtime monster compared to a very avera...

Re: World's tallest coaster to be built in Florida!

It's the first Poler Coaster and will stand over 500ft tall. I believe it is being built in partnership with S&S so will use ride cars similar to that seen on the El Loco coaster. Can you imagine inverting that high up with just a lap bar?! Insane. (That's providing they go for lap bars in the f...

Re: Winter Wonderland - Hyde Park - 23rd November 2013-5th January 2014

Fantastic photos. The line-up this year is the strongest it has ever been, even though I am still missing the Black Hole slightly! Great pics, and I hope Power Tower keeps on coming back. It has become a staple now for Winter Wonderland and everyone seems to know and love it!

Re: Fireworks 2013

I saw the display last night. It was incredible. Jubilee were once again at the helm and delivered a world class display to celebrate what has been a very significant year for the Resort. The lasers, fireworks (even the bang at the beginning which made me leap out of my skin!) to the finale and the ...

Easily done via train.

From Hamburg Airport to Soltau is 2 changes from the airport. It's such an easy thing to do and German trains are so reliable.

Visit DB.de for the routes and times. :)

Thank you!

Heide Park from Hamburg

I'm looking to take a trip some point next year to Heide Park to ride their new Wing Rider. I've never been to the park before, but with it being Merlin owned I'm keen to get 1/2 price entry with my MAP! I've heard that the park is in easy reach from the centre of Hamburg. Just wanted to ask if anyo...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

In my opinion, I've had my last ride on The Smiler for the season. That was when I queued three hours to ride it in the rain during the Scarefest. The ride was never fit to open- even in May. It was half completed, the toilet blocks towards the lift hills have been left in a real mess and they have ...

Re: If You could bring back one past ride?

Black Hole for me. It's a ride that has fascinated me for a long time. I never got to ride it. Apparently, what was inside the tent wasn't exactly impressive. As someone that has ridden a Jet Star 1 model, I know how powerful these kinds of Swartzy rides can be! I can only image what the Black Hole ...

Re: Winter Wonderland - Hyde Park - 23rd November 2013-5th January 2014

Air, Power Tower 2 and the Winter Wonderland express are confirmed for this year. (Even though the majority of people confirmed these rides anyway, and we all knew they were going to return.... just though i'd say it though, since it was stated by the event on their fb page.) Also, can I have an an...

Re: Things in life that make you go grrrrrr!!

Whistling. When people do that really loud whistle to attract your attention in public. I get it if it's at a dog or a taxi, but not at a person. It grinds my gears when I hear it at gigs, too. I always seem to be sat in front of the show-off that shoves his fingers in his mouth and producers that ...

Re: CBeebies Land 2014 - General Discussion

It's interesting how the BBC have allowed a themed area to be built at a theme park based on one of their most iconic brands. Just when developments start to become promising, we have this blow... it's just an odd choice of theme. Was the logo created on Paint this morning before the Press Release w...

Re: Winter Wonderland - Hyde Park - 23rd November 2013-5th January 2014

Just under a month to go and news on Britain's best winter festival seems to be a bit quiet. If we believe the website, Power Tower, Wilde Maus and Air are all said to be returning. Surely construction is due to begin soon so there should be more information on what rides are attending this year? I ...

Re: Is this the end of Slammer?

I will be gutted if Slammer has indeed slammed for the final time (awful pun, I know). It's a brilliant ride. S&S flat rides seem to be plagued with downtime, anyway. The fact that it has gone from their ride catalogue is disappointing to see. They must be focusing more on their coasters (and ob...

Anybody else noticed how much the restraints stink after it has rained? Rode it on Saturday and I nearly gagged when I pulled the OSR down!

Re: THREE new woodies for the UK, one for Drayton Manor?

Thought I would post some more interesting information with regards to this topic. I'm part of the RCCGB and we had a great talk from the park officials on Sunday. It was also the club's 25th Anniversary so we all received free mugs, champagne, curry lunch, extra ERS's on G Force, Troublesome Trucks...
