Re: BG Williamsburg 2012: "Verbolten" multi-launch Zierer

Check out the brazen lying by one of the BGW staff about the "freefall drop". We had to make up a name because nobody else has a name because that doesn't exist anywhere! It's where we bring the entire coaster track - the coaster car onto a certain piece of track we have - and we actually ...

Re: BG Williamsburg 2012: "Verbolten" multi-launch Zierer

Thanks! What a bizarre incident, there was clearly a lot of exaggeration/chinese whispers going around. But wow at the drop - despite starting from the block brakes really slowly, it got pretty damn fast at the bottom turn!! I'm sure this coaster will be a great family coaster, looks so much fun, wi...

Re: BG Williamsburg 2012: "Verbolten" multi-launch Zierer

Thanks Rob. The whole situation seems strange and I agree with your thoughts on the truck being inside, but it certainly seems a weird thing to make up!

Can I ask what happened with the Mach Tower? What did the park want kept quiet?

It does hint that it could possibly open with a train down for a while though, which will be a nightmare on opening day.
Maybe, but even with a train down they still have an impressive four trains! Mack-esque throughput ambitions.

Re: Devoness Park

Wow!! That's great! I really love how the opening section on top of the hill allows it to stay beneath tree height, with the really Nemesis-esque corkscrew. I also love the Shambhala-style turnaround, it looks ace! Things I would improve on (though you may disagree): - The edges of your paths are ve...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

It would be like just before you enter the forest run on The Ultimate: "BRACE BRACE BRACE BRACE BRACE!!!!!" only for the entire ride. What would that do for heartlining as well? Can't see it myself.

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

Haha I didn't think you were being too serious! :P The guns idea is certainly possible but imagine trying to hit a target! It would be genuinely impossible! I think it's much more likely to be something train related (but not guns!), or maybe some kind of special effects or Winjas-esque trick track ...

Re: PortAventura 2012: "Shambhala" B&M Mega Coaster

This is going to be fast . Epic official testing video. That really low airtime hill after the turnaround = :D Should be a great spectator coaster too, here are some stills from the video showing what will be the splashdown area, as well as an overview of the new area: http://static.pa-community.com...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

Otherwise we’ll just be massively overhyping a ride before the marketing even begins. Maybe they've found a way of mounting laser guns to the carts so you're effectively dogfighting with the other trains and that giant robotic creature. I... http://cdn.memegenerator.net/instances/400x/19113306.jpg

Otherwise we’ll just be massively overhyping a ride before the marketing even begins. OH.... OH GOD I completely believe the coaster won't be going for world's most inversions (Nightfall's covered that), but just to clear up - if the Chinese park (there's a thread on here somewhere) does end up bui...

Re: Disneyland Paris: 20th Anniversary

I've just stumbled across this so apologies if it's been shown before. The Disney Dreams show press premiere I'm not really a big Disney fan but my god, that was incredible. Mainly the synchronisation of the fireworks and things like turning the whole castle into a factory, or launching each of the ...

Re: PortAventura 2012: "Shambhala" B&M Mega Coaster

Video of first test

Picks up a lot of speed on drops but looks like it comes close to stalling on the turnaround! It will no doubt get much faster though, and the lift hill chain speed looks to be lower than usual for now.

Re: PortAventura 2012: "Shambhala" B&M Mega Coaster

I believe they started the project later then Parc Asterix, OzSiris was being built as early as August 2011. Besides, we're talking about a much taller ride which goes over another so I suppose they waited until after Halloween to get Shambhala construction started It was a mostly tongue-in-cheek c...

Re: PortAventura 2012: "Shambhala" B&M Mega Coaster

To be honest I never felt Khan felt particularly tall anyway, especially since the first drop is so shallow.

I'm really worried about it opening, seeing as I'm going on June 1st... :|

Surely they must start testing soon if the track is complete? Why aren't they as prepared as Parc Asterix?!

That's a good idea. There's nothing to stop you rejecting the deferred place, should you decide in your hypothetical year off that university is currently not for you.

Re: The 'I Feel Down' Topic

Without jumping into whether you should go to university or not, I completely agree with mrbrightside that you need to think long term. Whatever you do, it's going to be pretty much essential to have the best qualifications you have. All future job applications will look at your A Level grades, and ...

Re: Camelot: General Discussion

Looking from where that picture was taken it looks like the back of the park. I haven't been since Knightmare opened but I guess there got room on the park to add a few funfair rides. As I heard the Rack gone and the coaster that use to be indoors before it got burned down. Which coaster burnt down...
