Re: CBeebies Land 2014 - General Discussion

I walked straight passed the area when I went the other weak. All I can say is; Ditching the perfectly good fibre glass squirrels (from the Squirrel Nutty ride) in favour of brightly coloured blobs, doesn't get me excited at all  Please tell me the rest of it is amazing. It's not aimed at you. ...

Re: Thunderbird - Holiday World - Opening 2015

^That seems about average price IMO. The Swarm's budget was only more because of the infilling. That area was just water a few years before, whereas this is being built on land that is already there.

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

I must admit, interesting place to put a trial cottage, I would have thought they would have put it somewhere else... Not at all, perfect place for them. It's a challenge to market something they are constructing out of the publics reach- so these show 'homes' will means the public see them. And th...

This.

It's as if the Daily Mail wrote that FB post. Without zoos and the like, animal preservation wouldn't occur and education on them would fall. We need these, we need SeaWorld.

Re: Falcon's Fury (Drop Tower)

Inside the Magic have reported that Falcon's Fury will open on September 26th. If true I guess BGT are confident testing will go well.

Re: Proposal

My fiancee is obsessed with giraffes, I'm obsessed with Theme Parks (obviously), so a private giraffe feed at Chessington was on the cards for my proposal back in March (on our anniversary). And said proposal made it onto national television yesterday morning: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10...

Re: Duel: Retheme, Replace or Remove?

Id like to see the the interior ride completely ripped out (exterior, queue and interior queue kept). Ride system replaced with a cheap family coaster (a la X or TH13TEEN), new animatronics and scenery. Lots of homages to the original ghouls (screaming heads, electric Bill, the lunatic, t-cup ghost ...

Re: SW8

I would disagree. I think Merlin have realised that the family market is where the money is at. Cbeebies this year, new accommodation next year, I'd say a flat and family ride the next/Cbeebies extension and then maybe a new coaster. I reckon the next major thing will be an overhaul of Duel, another...

Re: SW8

Incredible Hulk coaster was launched! Why does everyone forget it? It's B&M! I've said this a million times. The coaster is launched indeed but the launch wasn't done by B&M, that was all designed, manufactured, tested and implemented by Universal. They wanted to work with B&M on the ri...

So B and M's launches are spinning tyres.

Could they do multi launch B and M? If it is just wheels it would be possible.

Do we know this? B&M claim to have launch tech but it's is yet to be seen on any of their rides. It could be any type of launch no? Unless I've missed something?

Re: Thorpe Park - Next Coaster 2016?

maybe Thorpe should steal oblivions. However saying that i think its unlikely with the existence of saw. Thorpe cannot dig tunnels. With Oblivion, over half the ride is under ground, so Thorpe would have to build extremely high- it just wouldn't be possible. I say no 'world's firsts', just a ruddy ...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

When I was in the queue the other day, I noticed that as the train came in to the station, the top wheels don't actually spin, they just drag along the track when advancing. Not only this, but when the train stops at the V-lift, the up-stop wheels don't stop spinning because they're not actually in...

Re: Sun free tickets

The t&c's clearly say not for resale. I think they (or The Sun) work pretty hard to counter all the ones that are sold. When you request the tickets you are agreeing with both Merlin's and The Sun's terms. If you break those, you can be refused entry.

Re: Proposal

I proposed to my girlfriend of 8 years at a personal giraffe feeding at chessington on our anniversary this year. My advice is talk to the park, they are great and helping you sort things like champagne and food after.

Good luck!

Re: CBeebies Land 2014 - General Discussion

I doubt softs occurred (as the rides were there before and don't really need extensive testing with crowds as new major rides would) although I think it would be best to soft open some stuff today to get an idea of crowd control and staff training etc. However, I assume they say 5mins as they are te...

I love how we're calling it 'the old boat ride' when it's a mere year old!
