Re: Facebook status's that really drive you nuts

‎"Why is it that when someone tells you that there's billions of stars in the universe, you believe them, but if they tell you there's wet paint somewhere you have to touch it?" This seems to be on quite a few of my friend's statuses recently. It really makes me want to slap everyone in th...

Re: Scared to go on Oblivion!!!!

Oblivion is nowhere near as scary as it looks. It's pretty weird, because I'm sometimes intimidated by it, yet in reality its quite tame

Re: Alton Towers Dreams: How Obsessed Are You?

I dream about Alton Towers, but in every dream its a wildly different park that in no way resembles the real place, yet shares the name. The park is rarely realistic, and usually includes current rides with a weird twist (like Oblivion being over a ravine, or Thirteen being located outside the park,...

Re: Times when your friends/school go to AT but you can't.

Some of my friends went on a Saturday in July a few years back. I didn't go because I went to a small-yet-awesome music festival, and also because I was convinced it would be packed. Apparently it was an awesome day with barely anyone there. On a Saturday in the middle of July! Was rather gutted :/

While nothing scary has ever happened to me on Oblivion (apart from nervousness in the queue on my first few goes), the restraints coming loose has happened to me on Nemesis before, and that was scary.

Re: Travelers on park today

I love how everyone is saying "im not being discrimatory towards travellers, but..." and then go on a massive rant about them. I personally hate these people, they are scum, contribute nothing to society and do nothing but take take take from the government and local councils. they dress ...

Re: Old McDonald's Farm Yard - Future

I meant a kids coaster like the Beastie. Alton Towers no longer has a starter coaster for it's youngest guests so I was highlighting the fact that they could maybe space it out over the land that the ice show tent occupies as well. I agree that the park really needs a starter coaster, but I think t...

Re: Old McDonald's Farm Yard - Future

I always thought the point of Old Macdonald's Farm was that it was aimed at the very young? If that's the case, isn't it good that the area isn't crowded? It gives little kids space to run around and not have to wait in line. From an enthusiast's point of view, the place may seem neglected, but I'm ...

Re: Changes, and thoughts for the future.

So what about all the permanent rides the six flags chain moves around their parks? If it was so popular why did it come 4/5th in that poll ;) Six Flags has the money, and is a big enough brand, to move rides from one park to the next if they so wish. Merlin do the same thing from time to time, tho...

Re: 2012: Nemesis - What Lies Beneath... Part 2

I hope they use the nemsis soundtrack for this ride then there would be 2 rides with that amazing music. Also the part of the soundtrack they used on the video was amazing it really works. If they don't use the exact Nemesis theme music, they'll at least use a remixed soundtrack. Nemesis' theme tun...

Really sad news. I don't think anyone has had such a huge influence on modern technology. We owe a lot to the likes of the iPod and the iPhone

RIP Steve Jobs :(

Re: 2012: New Attractions

The other thing I noticed about the name is that there's a question mark at the end. It would be a bit odd if that is actually the name. I can't imagine someone saying "I love What Lies Beneath?". But then again who says "I love Charlie and The Chocolate Factory: The Ride"? Afte...

Re: 2012: New Attractions

I don't think it's the name, it doesn't really work. No one is going to call it 'Nemesis: What Lies Beneath', they'll just say 'What Lies Beneath', which is a strange name for a ride and makes no sense because there's no contect. Beneath what? I won't complain if that is the name, because it ties i...

Re: 2012: New Attractions

Wow, I never expected this. Honestly, I even thought that whole stupid 'Vertigo' bullcrap was more likely than this. I really thought that the ride would have absolutely nothing to do with Nemesis. The name for it, if it remains the actual name, actually sounds pretty decent too. The more I think ab...

Re: 2012: New Attractions

But most of us are not actually slating it. We're just saying we are disappointed that they couldn't have chosen something more interesting for the rides central feature. I suppose if the central feature of the ride was just Extremis, then I could see why that would be disappointing. But again, rem...

Re: 2012: New Attractions

But its important to note that the drop tower is 'part of a bigger dark ride concept', as said on that factsheet. Chances are the drop could only be a small part of the ride. Heck, the plans may have been read wrong, and the towers could be used instead of lifts. Granted that's just a shot in the da...

Re: If Six Flags brought Alton Towers?

People here may moan about Merlin, but Six Flags would be much, much worse. Six Flags parks are fun, but they severely lack any personality. Other than random uses of Warner licences (mainly DC and Loony Toons) there is zero theming (Scream at Magic Mountain remains the worst).

Re: What is your record for going on the same ride in one da

I think my biggest records at any theme park was at Camelot over 10 years ago. I was there on a school trip and the place was virtually deserted, so we all went on Tower of Terror (a roller coaster that was there before Gauntlet and Knightmare) and Excalibur (before it became the rather lame "E...

Re: Concorde - Would you like to see it fly again?

It feels like a massive step backwards that the plane was decommissioned in the first place. It needs to be bought back, or at least something similar needs to be made.
