Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

JayTricky - Ah I see. What is causing people to queue today as opposed to other times it was testing? The huge rumours and whisperings that it was open today. The fact that they said 'May' and it's the last day in May. That and the fact construction fences were took down yesterday and everything po...

The que is open(!)?
Why would people be queing if it wasn't open lol

It's not open. It's closed to the public.

You can still queue for a ride that's closed. For that when it does open, you're at the front!

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

16th June visit for me. Playing it ultra safe and don't want the panic and bustle of opening week. Made that mistake with AIR... I can still remember that long queue, people's faces and 'PPK Resurrection' playing over the speakers!

Re: The Smiler - Marketing [May Contain Spoilers]

To be fair, it's never actually been "confirmed" exactly what the Marmaliser screen will show. There's nothing to say what it currently shows is what will show once it opens... What's cool is that it can be changed. Pretty easily I suspect. Therefore possible Halloween pictures for Scaref...

It's an advert and will never be 100% accurate. Remember the Air advert? Prime example.

Re: The Smiler - Marketing [May Contain Spoilers]

That advert is brilliant. Very effective and sinister. how haha? I was going to ask you how you 'hated' it, but refrained as it just causes discussion that this board doesn't need. And that's you're opinion. But since you asked. I think it's fun, creepy (look at their faces and eyes), catchy (theme...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Honestly, I'm pulling my hair out at people screaming "cheap and tacky" theming. Do they just not GET the theme at all? It is supposed to look exaggerated and over the top. It is not supposed to look real. Half of it is a p!ss take of the big brother society we live in! Apart from that, i...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Wouldn't changing the height of the car be impossible though since the car isnt powered once it leaves the station/lift hills There is a big power supply on the back of the seats. Larger than normal. Also, they could have one underneath, with hydraulics pushing the car Im still not sure about this ...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Forgive me for getting excited but that facial recognition and Smiling to make the ride go faster concept would be simply groundbreaking and amazing.

Id like a bit more proof though!

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Shoot me down if you want, but I have just had a long conversation with Theme Park Collective and they have revealed to me what this secret is about the facial recognition. "Scream if you wanna go faster" is literal on THE SMILER. If you smile, the ride responds by reducing the amount of ...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Wasn't there a video about three pages ago which shows the facial recognition thing?

That would be pretty cool to see people's faces as they go round.

Is that why there's so many cameras around the ride?
