Re: Park/Ride Photos - Capture the Difference

Ah well, I was toying with the idea of text at the start anyway - things I do when I have a spare hour on my hands! Just outside CCL if I'm totally honest, but only just. I am impressed with the camera's overall performance; for a compact it really seems to pack a punch. It's a shame Thi3teen's Tesl...

Re: Alton's Biggest Fail!

Yup - have a 3yo daughter that's been on it with me - now she may be a bit young to obtain an accurate verdict - but she loved it, apart from when she got some water drip on her head from the stopping waterfall. Overall I think it's OK - great for the younger people, but it does feel "flat"...

Re: Park/Ride Photos - Capture the Difference

The Rita one is good, but better without text and if you took it just a moment earlier and the centre car was right at the apex OK, Just for you Blaze.. :P http://www.ukparknews.co.uk/images/randoms/rita2.jpg Though I can't move the train on the photo :P - tricky getting the timing right at full zo...

Park/Ride Photos - Capture the Difference

Hi Guys, I did a search before starting this but couldn't see any dedicated thread to share unique park photography with each other, so thought I'd start one. I seem to be spending more time taking photos of the rides than actually riding them these days - and there must be some other people with a ...

Re: 2nd June!

I know it's always a disappointment when an attraction is closed, but terms of entry to the park and ticket purchase state that they cannot guarantee all attractions will be available throughout the year. That said, it could be a little clearer on their site to allow guests to spot it, and decide wh...

There is already something similar on the app store from Theme Park Nerd - "Thrill Seeker" but at £3 it's not for me!

Re: Alton's Biggest Win! (If that is how you put it.)

There are no rumours, are there? We've heard a rumour from a fairly reliable source, but find it extremely hard to believe myself. There's something about Nemmy that makes me smile everytime I take a ride. I've been on it hundreds of times now, and its appeal has never dwindled. Even sitting watchi...

Nemesis here. Lets just hope the rumours about it leaving us next season remain as just that.

Re: Cumbria massacre

I think it's hard to say we can do x/y/z to stop this from happening again. However, I imagine that the gunman had serious mental health issues; you'd think that was a given of anyone capable of killing a dozen people, then killing themselves. So, my answer would probably be - perhaps there was some...

But then we come back to the problem of throughput.[/quote]

Indeed - though the variations of Robocoaster in the YouTube video look interesting - a robo-gondola/shuttle negotiating a track. Could be interesting and work better for ride throughput figures.

Re: Alton's Biggest Fail!

Is it fair to call any of those attractions a biggest fail? Each has their own merits for the intended customer (techy problems asside).

Re: Th13teen - Ride discussion [SPOILERS TOPIC]

I've yet to queue in the normal queue for Thi3teen - probably never will. It would be nice if they could have made it interact with the outdoor area of the ride a bit, but then I guess thgat would ditract from the theme of the "unknown".

Yah - Robocoaster! If you flick back a few pages I mentioned that earlier. :)
Would certainly be a unique UK experience hacing something like that in the tent, and with the right themeing/effort - it could be something very special indeed.

Re: Th13teen - Ride discussion [SPOILERS TOPIC]

Yep the ride was closed today - the park have issued us with an official statement regarding the operational issues which you can read from our website. It's a shame it's has been marred with technical problems - when so many guests flock to have a go, they'll ultimately be disapointed if they can't...

Re: Ripsaw restraints issue

I do like Ripsaw, but on another issue with these restraints, I don't think they're quite large enough. I'm a tall chap and when I get locked in, the distance beween the seat and top of the restraints that cover your shoulders is exactly the same as the length of my upper body. This means it's very ...

Re: The Future of the Blackhole Tent

I like the idea of the drop first attraction - I've considered this before but I guess the only real give away would be that you'd typically ascend throughout the queueline, if it were dropping from the top of the tent, or just dig a bigger hole and drop from gorund level. I'd like to see a 4D style...

Re: Th13teen - Ride discussion [SPOILERS TOPIC]

I like to look back over the video when he was running around the site of Nemesis explaining how the ride will look - and he looks much younger in that video!
Well, it was a while ago... top man. :)
