Re: Drayton Manor 2012 Season

There's quite a bit happening around the park at the moment. Firstly, the Apocalypse queueline is finally going to see a new system, where riders can wait separately for the stand up floorless element http://i846.photobucket.com/albums/ab29/jltf2010_2010/IMG_1968.jpg It looks like there will be a ne...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

^ I think Chris is implying that TTF will be taking aerial shots of the SW7 site from a helicopter ;)

Submission voice-over

While I was queueing for Enterprise last night, I noticed there was a voice-over (and other sound effects) coming from Submission. Is this a new feature?

Re: Scarefest PTR, 23-24/10

Day 2 I did many rides, but day 2 was all about the mazes more than anything. I was on park just after 11.30 and was soon at the Box Office buying a ticket for The Sanctuary. Aside from Sub Terra, I've never really done a scare maze before. I had no idea what to expect, so was really nervous before...

Scarefest PTR, 23-24/10

Well that’s my biggest (and best) trip of the year over. I know Alton have received some criticism for their choice of lighting in certain areas, but the whole atmosphere was just incredible. Day 1 Arrived at the park just after 4.00 and headed straight for Forbidden Valley. I did Nemesis several ti...

Re: Brinston Gardens

A visit to  Brinston Gardens, with  PTR - 10/10/12 Part 1 - Grand America and Sky Park I hadn't been to Brinston Gardens in some time, so thought it was time I paid a visit. After setting off early with John and Sarah, we arrived at the park just after 9.20 for Early Ride Exclusive . It w...

*Teaser* Here's a 1995 promotional image for the park's signature ride - Falcon. Falcon is a b&M inverted coaster which features four inversions, landscape interaction and chopper effects: http://i846.photobucket.com/albums/ab29/jltf2010_2010/Promo_zpsa065d543.jpg Stay tuned!  ;)

Re: Twirling Toadstool, never again.

I don't mind waveswinger type rides, but big wheels terrify me (especially if it's a windy day).

Ripsaw did indeed use to sport tesla coils on the arms. Have a look through the gallery here:

Re: Drayton Manor 2012 Season

overall 3 out of 5 for drayton manor imo it really needs some tlc mean surely they can afford a lick of paint for the buildings etc for example the toilets were disgusting look like something out of the 80's. Hmmm, what a ridiculous statement. Drayton have splashed out big time this year, with impr...

I actually edited the above pictures in Picasa, using the "old photo" effect. I just makes it that little bit more realistic  :)

Brinston Gardens

A new park I'm working on  :) First, a bit of history... A History Of Brinston Gardens by J. Williams The original Brinston Manor was built around 1802 and has been home to the Bakerford family for many years. It was in 1905 that the Brinston Estate first opened its beautiful gardens and ground...

Re: What ride's freak you out?

Nemesis Sub-Terra (don't laugh). I really don't like dark, confined spaces at the best of times, and the strobe lighting just adds to the tense atmosphere.

I was at Alton Towers on Monday, and thought Th13teen was much faster compared to other trips this season.

Re: What is so good about Nemesis???

What's not to love about Nemesis? It has one of the most unique and intense layouts in the world. You also have to take into account the vast landscaping and interaction with the local terrain. It's one awesome experience, and there hasn't been anything like it since. How you can rate G Force is bey...

I'd say X Sector was the main thrill area. There's isn't much in this area which caters for families as such.

It could work, but surely such a 90s conception would be wasted on the public of today?

The trip that stands out the most was last Scarefest. I managed 40 rides, including a memorable experience on Ripsaw and Th13teen in the dark.

Re: Rita and ERT

Hmm, I personally would rather have Rita on ERT. Th13teen doesn't seem too busy during the course of the day, and the SRQ moves fast. The same can't be said for Rita.
