Re: Is Samurai moving?

I'm not sure I see how a cosmetic spruce up would change how it's operated. Top Scans are awesome but at Thorpe Park, but flats at big parks are over before they get going to try and cope with queues. If you want to experience a Top Scan at its best you should visit the fair circuit, with The Beast ...

Re: Nemesis vs Jubilee Odysse

The ride was extremely expensive to plan and construct. The owner at the time funded it from his own pocket and was not interested in things paying for themselves etc, he just wanted to put Fantasy Island on the map. Today, it desperately needs a new train. It is visible from miles away and gets peo...

Re: Nemesis vs Jubilee Odysse

Jubilee Odyssey is an incredible ride that too few people have experienced. I used to rate it above Nemesis but it is a little too lumbering through some elements and rather rough. The first drop is incredible and unique in this country for being so high on an inverted ride. But Nemesis is just bril...

You have seen some of their (Merlin parks) previous attempts at PR stunts right?

Yes, but at least they involved a level of imagination and creativity.

Re: HELP !!! With Complaining

Sounds bad, but you should have pursued the matter more sternly there and then. Asking for a supervisor and then if not a manager etc.

Now that you've come away I think it makes things more difficult unless you have receipts/tickets still?

Re: Future Developments

There's nothing to engage in any more. The TowersStreet forums contain all of the people I have always enjoyed conversing/debating/joking with and my relentless debate over several pages continue on those boards. So yes, the core community has been lost for me. These forums can survive as the popula...

Re: Optimum Route to Rita?

I didn't realise Hex was on ERT actually, but yes you could get those three done in an hour.

It won't be as busy as what you think, but there is no quicker way to Rita, you're correct.

Re: News: Reduced Attraction Operating Hours *Updated*

Many people talk about how Alton Towers is oppressed by Merlin as if it were the British Empire strangulating an African country...it just doesn't work like that, that's all I'm saying.

Re: News: Reduced Attraction Operating Hours *Updated*

I think you'll find it's more likely that something like this occurs. Merlin initiates cut. Cut is counterproductive in terms of guest backlash and potential re-visit damage/customer complaints. Merlin reverses cut. There is no divide between Alton Towers and Merlin. Alton Towers manager's actual jo...

Re: What Cuts Would You Make?

Enforce a 10% pay cut on all staff working above minimum wage, 20% for managers and accountants etc. You do realise most of the staff at Alton Towers will already be on minimum wage, or very little above it? That's the nature of tourism and seasonal work. Plus, you'd never get management to accept ...
